Since I've had the pleasure of defending my TFP title for well over a year, now, I figure it is time to allow you guys a shot at the title. I can't remember who set up the last league on yahoo but we should definitely do it again. C'mon silent_jay, I know you've been waiting a long time to take me down. :D

Which Fantasy rules are you playing under? I up for it though.

I'm not a basketball fan but I owned my friends in fantasy basketball and baseball. I'll play some hockey with you guys if you let n00bs in :)

I'm still waiting for yahoo to open up the leagues, again. Once they do, I will let you all know what's going on. I'd prefer to keep it small (10 teams) and with people dedicated to playing the entire season, not just a couple months.

I know not one player name in Hockey (i'm not even joking). I dont even know all of the positions.

I think you know by now that I'm competitve and I never drop out even whn I 'm in last.

I would like to see how well I can do just going on stats and such that I read from mags and such.

I'll start studying. It is about time that I learn about Hockey anyways.

Considering virtually every player is on a different team to start the year and with all the rule changes, I doubt anyone has a solid strategy on how to draft for this year's league. Should be interesting.

Were you in my Yahoo league last season dylan? Can't remember if I posted it on TFP or not, but I sure as hell remember I didnt win for the first time in 5 years, and Ive been stewin about it ever since.

Yeah, I was the commish, I ended up taking third. You went into the finals with my buddy krazeekal, and beat him in shorthanded goals by one to take the category and win on the last night. He still bitches about that to this day. I'll be startin the league again as soon as they open them, and you are more then welcome to join up if ya wanna.

Yeah, I remember he and I were trading out players every night of the last week trying to win every stat. I ended up with Pascual Dupuis and he got the shorthanded-empty net goal to win it for me. If I remember right, I dumped Marty Turco, Martin St. Louis and Jose Theodore to pick up Dupuis, Rolston and Daigle. :lol:

I'd definitely be down for joining your league. I guess we'll have a couple fo TFP league to join this year. I can't wait.

I cant wait either. I had been runnin leagues for 10 years straight until the lockout, starting with an AOL points based league and moving to Yahoo later on. Without having any hockey to watch, or any fantasy league activity to catch up on everyday, I've had way too much time on my hands.

i just noticed there are two leagues.. why? I am not sure how many are in this one but there are 6 teams in the other. Would it be possible to combine them?

Due to the seemingly lack of strong interest, it might be in our best interest to shut one league down and ask those who joined to sign-up in the other league. We currently have 6 teams in the TFP league. If we moved them over to the other league, we could go with 12 teams total.

Whatever happens let me know, one league, two leagues, it's all the same to me.

Well, if I don't get the league filled with TFP'ers, I'll just open it up to the Yahoo members looking for a league. With the last email I sent out to someone asking to join up from here, I should have 7, and there are still about 20 days left to fill the remaining 5 spots before our live draft. I just can't believe that outta the 130+ views between our 2 threads, we can't get 24 people interested enough to join.

If you wanna join into my league, your more then welcome to fill the spots I have left, or I could expand the league to 14 teams, and with our combined teams, we would only have to get 1 more to complete the league. I would just hope that the live draft date I have would work with everybody's schedule. Its really up to you Dylan what you wanna do.

I'm kinda thinking it would be better to keep the numbers low and have guys who will see the season all the way to the end. Perhaps ending one league and sending those displaced folks over to the other league would be the best move? I'll give it another week or so and, if I can't find four more people, I'll shut down the league and go to the Five Hole Hockey one.

Okay, since I've struggled to find more people to join this league, I am shutting it down and suggesting those TFP members who joined to sign-up on the Five Hole Hockey League, which is also on free yahoo fantasy hockey. Here is the link to the TFP thread with the details:

Sorry about all of this but I would rather have 12 guys dedicated to seeing the league through than to have some guys play for a week and quit.

Thanks for trying dylan, I hope there will be enough teams for the other one, we need a good fantasy hockey battle here.

I agree that debacle was bullshit, I sure do wish they'd bring rdr back, football season isn't going to be the same without him here.
