Yes, I do miss it. I can hardly stand the NBA and we were subject to an entire season with basically nothing else on ESPN during that time frame. Oh wait, that's how it usually goes.

The deal should be done within the next few days, and at the latest, a week. Then the draft lottery and draft, then free agency. Training Camp should start in about 2 months.

Has there been anything released on an agreement being reached? I sure as HELL miss hockey. A small part of me died when there was no hockey this season.

I too miss the NHL, but I heard on EPSNRadio that there will be far fewer games on Espn soon.
They are gonna have more original programming... remember the E stands for entertainment.

ESPN isn't renewing their TV deal, probably because hockey ratings hvae been in the toilet for the last couple of years, bottoming out with last year's snoozefest masquerading as the Stanley Cup playoffs. The NHL has a deal with NBC now, which is apparently based on revenue sharing and is similar to the deal that arena football has.

Considering ESPN barely even ran and advertisement for the NHL, I say good riddance.

I think this chart is the real story of the lockout ending. You gotta love the Bruins only having three players under contract before the "fantasy" draft takes place on August 1st.

I nearly cried when hockey was back. I lived in the US for the past 3 or so years and missed HNIC dearly. American broadcasting is definately the shits when it comes to hockey.
