Reggie Millers final regular season game.
I think this is deserving of it's own thread. A man who isn't MJ or anything, but certinaly no slouch in his own right. One of my favorite guys to watch being a Bulls fan my whole life, was Reggie Miller. Fitting enough, not playing a great game tonight, but it looks like the Pacers are going to beat Chicago. He played the game the right way, 110% every night, and spent his entire career with one team. Was a great run, now we get to watch Reggie's last playoff run.
Hats off to a great career, Reggie! |
It's pretty amazing he managed to stay with Indiana all these years. He could have easily jumped ship like Malone did. I will remember those great series against the Knicks where he stopped time and put Spike Lee in his place.

Miller has had a very good career. Not only a great shooter, but a dangerous shooter. His height, coupled with his movement, negated the fact that the defense knew the ball was coming in the pressure situations. I hate to say anything negative, but Miller probably has given just as many off the ball fouls as he has received during his career, but the numbers don't reflect that.

How funny is it that he is the greatest player in Pacers history but not even the greatest in his family? (That would be his older sister Cheryl Miller)

watching reggie tonight i could not help but get choked up....its the end of a great era...an end to a great carrerr
he may not have been as talteted as mj but he had the heart of mj and is one of the best clutch players ever when he said how much he has vauled being here and how much he has vauled being a hoosier god that moved me to tears what a great man |
Reggie and the pacers got me into basketball.
Great, classy guy. Pretty much defines what an NBA player should be. unfortunately that brawl took away the chance for him to get a ring but HOF in a few years should make up for that |
Reggie played with class, was loyal to his team, gave it his all every night, was a leader on the court, and set a good example off the court. In an age where many athletes demonstrate for us how NOT to live, the league was a little better with Reggie than it will be without.

Reggie is/was old school. One team for his entire career. He gave it everything he could. May not have a ring, but he's got a ton of respect.
Hope he has an enjoyable life in whatever he chooses to pursue. |
As a Pacer fan ever since I can remember this is pretty sad. He is what the town of Indianapolis has looked up for the past decade and a half. Pacer basketball just wont be the same without him I definately shed a tear during the end of his last game.
He was one of, if not the most potent 3-point shooter in the entire NBA. Played basketball like it should be played, and didn't jump ship to a team with a better chance of winning the ring(though recently the pacers have been in contention in all of the most recent past). This state is going to miss him for sure. |
I'll miss him. He's been around forever, played in so many big games, made so many big shots, deadly shooter. Always showed his heart and emotions when he played. Fun guy to watch play basketball.

Larry Brown calling time out so the Pistons could congratulate him was truly a class act!
