Vikings reportedly mulling Moss trade.
They say the Ravens may be interested in a trade. Christ I hope not. I would hope they learned that lesson with the T.O. mess. Let the Vikings keep him and his distractions.

Wow, I think the Vikings would be very stupid if they let Moss go, as much as I HATE the guy. And that is a strong word, he is such a stupid person, but such a great play-maker, it makes me sick to see talent act like he does. Though he brings a negative tone to the Vikings with his actions, they would be fools to let him go.

Even tho i like Sean Salisbury like i like being kicked in the bawls, he mad a good point, he is not a good player or even a great player, he is explosive. When he wants to be. You cannot deny that. He will never be listed in the same class as Rice or Harrison.
|
whether or not you like the guy, the guy produces results:
considering at the same point in their career, randy moss has more touchdowns than jerry rice did. most catches in first 6 years in the league most receiving yards in first 6 years in the league only receiver to have 1,000+ yards receiving in his first 6 years in the league nfc rookie of the year in his rookie season all-pro (voted by sportswriters) on 3 occassions pro bowl numerous times (voted by the fans)... and he's not a good player?!!? he's not great?!?!!? he's simply explosive?!?!?! i mean, he had a subpar year compared to his previous seasons, but he ended up with 49 catches for 767 yards (15.7/catch avg.) and 13 touchdowns. if the vikings trade him, whatever team gets him will be vastly improved, and they may suffer an after effect (just like the 49ers did in getting rid of to). if the vikings are smart, they keep him. |
The vikings played like shit this year without moss. With moss they played much better. The problem with the vikings lately has always been their defense and possibly their playcalling. I think the only people who have a problem with moss' off the field antics are people with too much time on their hands.
|
i think the vikings have said they will only deal him if they get the much better part of the trade, and i think it would make the vikings a better team if they can achieve this. Why? because it would make them more consistant and that is a bigger key.

As a Ravens fan, I would be thrilled to acquire Randy Moss. uncle_el did a good job listing his accomplishments, and at 27 years of age….yeah, I would be thrilled.
|
oh hell no... he's got room to improve, but frankly, that's a coaching issue in a lot of ways. fire tice for the love of all things sacred, but the vikes with out moss? screwed...
look at turn over of defensive coordinators, and the issues from the top. moss is not a problem on this team. |
Rumor has it that we might be interested in picking him up as well for an impact defensive player and our first round pick. Rumor also has it that a Viking official already contacted Davis regarding this trade, and Davis was definitely interested in acquiring Moss. Although the only real "impact" player we have is Woodson, I would certainly hope we could get away with Buchanon and our #1, but that's unlikely. I dont know about giving up Woodson and this years #1, but maybe Woodson and next years #1? Moss would be a perfect addition to the silver & black, and I'm sure he would much rather join us than the Ravens or Redskins. It's going to be interesting to see how this turns out.
|
Isn't woodson like 50 years old? That would be just like tice to trade moss for someone with only a year or two of football left in him.
|
Woodson's like 28

If we could deal Moss for an impact defense player and said number one pick and get say perhaps Mike Williams I'd be straight with that. The vikings as it is have a very solid core of recievers, although to be fair part of the reason Moss is so good was in how he was fostered and developed, Denny Green and Cris Carter did a good job with that.

he could have just not played. moss on the field, the defense has to respect him. as far as the vikings record goes, their defense was absolutely horrendous. and moss scored 13 touchdowns in 10 games... it would seem that he was certainly productive. does he "dog it" on plays? sure, he admits it. does he lead the team. i don't know, as i don't play for them, but a good or a great player doesn't have to lead the team in football. when the cowboys had there run in the 90s, was it troy's team, emmitt's team, or irvin's team? idk.. but i do know all three of them were great players. just look at the numbers that he's put up in his first 7 years in the league, they're astonishing! there are very few wide receivers in the league that can compete with that. while i can see how his behavior, both on the field and off the field, can upset some people, i don't think that one can say that moss isn't good. seems like last season, a lot of people wanted to say t.o. wasn't worth it... maybe this is the next iteration of a misunderstood receiver. i can only imagine if we resign porter, and add moss... |

Maybe if he gets tradded enough he will just fade away.

The current price of wide recievers is pretty low, the first TO trade was for 1 second round draft pick, and for KJ was also a second round draft pick. So the Vikings are probably not going to get what they expect for him and might be happy to just get rid of him.

The rumor on the radio around here is Moss to the Skins for LaVar Arrington and a 2nd round pick. Personally, I could give a crap about either team, I just have a personal dislike for Moss. You can't argue with what he can bring to your team, but as everyone including Moss has said, WHEN HE WANTS TO. That kind of attitude is simply unsatisfactory in the ultimate teams sport of football. The Vikings owner and coaches have allowed Moss to develop into the cancer he is today, by looking at his stats instead of his off-field antics and attitude. About a week ago, ESPN radio was asking, "Who would you rather have play for you, TO or Moss?" NO QUESTION. Terrell Owens. Both are showboats, both are immensely talented, but with TO you at least know he's giving 100%. Hell, he's trying to play in the Super Bowl with an injury. Moss? He takes downs off, whines when the team isn't sticking to the "Randy Ratio" and tries to run over lady meter maids with his car.
Whoever is stupid enough to trade away draft picks for Moss deserves him. -Mikey |
Trading Moss would be a huge mistake for the Vikings. Don't they know what happened to the 49ers this year?
|
t.o.'s career stats:
669 catches for 9772 yards and 95 touchdowns 14.6 yards per catch avg. 9 years in the league moss's career stats: 574 cathces for 9142 yards and 90 touchdowns 15.9 yards per catch avg. 7 years in the league t.o. was considered to be a cancer to his team... he leaves, the 49ers tank, and the eagles have a very successful season with him. could this just be the next iteration?!?!!? |
