Another Brawl. This time in So. Carolina
It just happened. Clemson vs South Carolina. Huge brawl with 5:46 left in the 4th. Only saw what they showed on Gameday, but man it was huge, usually football fights kind of suck, but this was out of control. What the hell is going on in sports?

I saw the highlights of the fight once.
It is a damn shame that the great Lou Holtz has this occur during his last game. On a side note, from watching the video: I feel sorry for one player I saw without a helmet who absorbed a haymaker to the face. The opposing player who hit him had his helmet on and blind sided him. |

This fight was even more pointless then the Pacers/Pistons game.
I hope there are suspensions on both sides. I know Lou Holtz will. What a shame for his last regular season game to end like this.

Seriously, what are sports coming to these days? I was shocked this weekend by the amount of poor sportsmanship displayed. Those responsible for the melee should be punished. I'm not talking about sitting out a few games or community service. Fine these college students. Fine, and/or put some of these professional athletes in prison. As far as the Pacers game goes, you know why it got out of hand like it did? Because there won't be a penalty that actually hurts these people. They make too much money to give a flying fuck about what punishment they could possibly receive. They figure they will be out 5mill? Oh well, they still have another 20mill in the bank so they can afford to act like a bunch or overpaid, undertalented asshats!

they just reported on espn that clemson is taking itself out of a bowl game if they are invited. i like that. it shows the school taking responsibility for the players actions and punishing them. i hope to see south carolina do the same thing.

Both schools have removed themselves from bowls. While I agree it is the right thing to do given the landscape of sports, I feel sorry for the fans (and non-participating players) who were already making bowl plans.
However, that feeling will probably go away tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. when Steve Spurrier introduces himself as the new coach at USC.
