can the steelers lose this weekend?

yeah it's a small chance my bengals will win...but last year the chiefs were 9-0 and cincy knocked em off. and right before the game the chiefs were on the sports illustrated cover. pittsburgh was on the last sports illustrated cover can it happen twice? only difference is chad johnson didn't guarantee the win this year. anyways the main reason for this post...are there any other bengals fans out there?

Not a bungles fan, but the Steelers are due for a let down... They are probably the best team in the NFL right now, but rivalry games is always the best chance to see an upset.

Tickets on the 45 for this one...

Kansas City came in here 9 - 0 last year and left whimpering. haha yeah right.

The Steelers can be had but it will take a big flawless effort on the Bungs part and a bit of a let down on the steelers part. The steelers fans come in force to Cincy too. I don't think we go the other direction like they do so they will have enough noise to ride.

It will still be a fun game but I think Steelers 31 - Bungs 16.

Being a huge Trojan fan, I'm rooting for both teams (Bengals QB Carson Palmer and Steelers SS Troy Polamalu are two of my favorite Trojans of all-time), but I highly doubt the Bengals can pull it out again this year. The Steelers are rolling and unless Carson Palmer steps up and has a huge game and Cincy's D can stop Big Ben and that balanced Pittsburgh offense, I don't think it'll even be close.

Carson Palmer will be a great QB, he just needs to cut down on the Interceptions.

That said I think Cincy can win. Chad and Rudi will have to kick it up a notch and play to their fullest potential.

IF the Bengals can win here, the boost of confidence will be strong enough to help them win close games. They only have one more truly "should lose" game on their schedule I believe and it's the Pats and they are kind of faltering.

The Bengals could comeback in this half of the season and go 6-1, 5-2 and have a wildcard berth.

Interesting stats...

Code:

GP        PYDS        PCT        TDs        INT        RATING
9        1314        57.6        5        6        70.4
9        1897        56.9        7        12        66.0

One is Carson Palmer, one is another young quarterback. Any guesses as to who it is and which is which?

As for the thread topic, yes, the Steelers CAN lose. The thing is chances are they WON'T lose. And you KNOW how hard that is for me to admit :D

Only one more truly "should lose" game? The team that has not won a road game against teams with a winning record in a decade has to play:

1) At Baltimore (6-3)
2) At New England (8-1) , and
3) At Philadelphia (8-1).

Hmmmm...as optimistic as I tend to be about the Bungs (keep in mind I've had season tickets for 10 years) I don't see them having just one L left on the remaining schedule.

I do share your optimistic outlook though and I think the future is finally looking good for the orange and black. Hail St. Marvin Lewis!!!

As much as I am pro-Baltimore, it's important to note that prior to last weeks game the stats in the TD and INT department were 3 and 6 for Boller and 6 and 10 for Palmer. Neither ratio is good now or then. That just shows both QB's are young and inconsistent.

The Steelers shall come out victorious! I'm not much of a sport's fan (in terms of watching any sport on TV) but this is the first year in quite some time I've actually started watching a team on Television, and I must say, the Steeler's are near perfect now. I really don't think there is a chance in hell that the Bengals will win, but we always have to keep our fingers crossed and not get over-confident about anything.

The Steelers seem to be taking it all in Stride, and I have a feeling they'll keep Bengals in the sub-10 points category, scoring about 28-35 points themselves.

(On a side note, Dave Letterman was poking fun at Tom Brady last night on the Late Show about their team's one lose to, guess who, Pittsburgh! Good times.)

Well, any team can lose any game... but I dont think the Steelers are going to lose this one.

I dont see the Bengals stopping the run enough to have a chance in this one... they are definitely still improving, but they dont have the weapons to be a post season threat right now.
