TFP Loser Pool Week #5
Week #5 of the TFP Loser Pool (Is that the worst you can do?)
Week four of the loser pool really separated the losers from the really big losers. With the ineptitude that this pool suggests, we are now down to four remaining players. We started with 55 players in first week, and then 14 players couldn’t pick a loser, after the second week we lost 23, in the third week we had only 13 left, and in the fourth week we lost nine more to get to our current four remaining. We are in week 10 of the regular season and it is time for the your next loser. First a review of the rules: 1. Each week you must pick one team to lose that week. (Point spreads are irrelevant!) If they lose you continue on in the pool the next week. They win, you are out. 2. You may only pick a team one time during the pool to lose a game. Once you have picked a team, that team can not be used for the remainder of the season, including the playoffs if necessary. (This is where the strategy comes into play - choose wisely when to take your "sure thing" team.) If you “accidently” pick a team you have used previously, you will lose and then be prepared to be mocked and thoroughly embarrassed (hereinafter referred to as the “inharmony rule”). 3. (New tie breaker rule starting NFL week 10) Now that there are only four players left, in case all remaining players lose the same week, we need a tie breaker(s). The first tie breaker will be “Strength of Schedule”. If all remaining players lose the same week, then the total win loss records of the teams the players picked will be calculated, and the player picking the highest winning percentage teams will win. In other words, if one player has a combined 30-10 record, he would beat the 25-15 player since the other player picked more “easy” teams. The second tie breaker (if needed) will go to the player who picked the “best” losing team during the various weeks based on winning percentage only. The final (if needed) tiebreaker will be least total points by the player’s losing teams. Since this is a single elimination, be sure to have your pick in by midnight EST the night before the first game. If the mod (thanks again Spectre) locks the thread before you pick, you have not picked, and have lost. http://www.nfl.com/schedules If you did not get in on the first week of this pool, you are not eligible to play for the rest of the season. This pool is very similar to the Suicide Pool with one exception: instead of picking a guaranteed winner, you have to pick a guaranteed loser. Sounds simple, but remember you can only pick a team to lose once during the pool (which could stretch into the playoffs). “Choose, but choose wisely.” Remaining players: bundy, crewsor, Dengar, heccubsiv Good luck to all remaining.
