And TO wonders why he's "persecuted"

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2...bayless/041105

Fantastic article (didn't post the whole thing because it is very long).

I cannot wait until TO starts showing off his normal self to the Philly fans.

its not an article, its just a character assination.

TO likes to have fun when he scored a TD. whats wrong with that... like the Ravens player said, dont let him score and then you wont have to watch him dance. I agree with him that it is crazy that you have people on murder raps, drug raps, people intentionally trying to injure fellow players, and Terrell is painted as the bady guy cos he likes to do a silly dance or pull a marker pen out of his sock. What he does doesnt hurt anyone, he is just adding a bit of theatre to the game.

He is talented, but he's really fucking annoying. Calling Garcia gay and whatever, his constant attacks on other players is uncalled for.

Am I the only one who's tired of hearing about this on the Jim Rome show? They're puttin' a little too much on this Terrel Owens/Ray Lewis "fued."

That article reeks of the whole LOL T.O. HAS B.O. LOL schtick.

Point is, for Philly this year T.O. has been the decisive factor, because now McNabb has a reliable go-to guy.

Unlike last year when the passing game couldn't dig itself out of a hole no matter how hard it tried.

Also I recall T.O. dropping not so subtle hints that he would go to the Eagles even before the whole Baltimore saga.

TO is the factor that will put the Eagles over the top and into the Super Bowl.

TO wants to be in Philly, he didn't want to be in San Fran or Baltimore. He has skills, is a top receiver (something the Eagles have lacked for years), and has the skills to equal the "hype."

It's easy to find negatives about TO, and also provides a limitless writing source for sports writers to pull from. This is the case here, as I don't see anything new, but instead a lot of re-hashed experiences and commentary on situations that are now starting to get old.

He is having an awesome year for the Eagles and I, personally, don't mind his celebrations at all.

I found this portion of the article funny:

Quote:
He also knew he wouldn't have to face Lewis' team again this season, unless it's in the Super Bowl.

So Owens rubbed it in by mocking Lewis' trademark pre-game dance.
I'm sure Owen's factored in whether he played the Ravens again this season before celebrating.. Not. The writer seems to imply that Owen's would have had to fear for his life if they did play again and he performed the same celebration dissing Lewis. Come on, what grade are we in here?

Lastly:

Quote:
This me-first frontrunner is far more concerned with being a celebrity than being a member of a winning team.
Maybe so, but sports lately is an entertainment venture as much as it is about competetion and winning, and TO seems to be able to succeed at winning and being a recognized celebrity, and I fail to see the problem. Ray Lewis isn't exactly hiding from Media, commercial, and other coverage either.

I find this article inconsistent in regards to the writer's stance on TO. He praises him, and then two paragraphs later criticizes him. That's fine I guess, but his inconsistency makes it hard to see where he is coming from and what his stance is.

Also, there is nothing new here, instead it's just bringing up a bunch of past incidents and comments that have already been played out IMO, and trying to extend their lifetimes. TO is easy to write about, and I would think that when a sports writer needs a story and is lacking material, he is always nice to fall back on for commentary.

I won't comment on T.O.'s celebrations since obviously I would be biased. What I do look forward to though is when the honeymoon ends, and there is adversity in Philly. Its going to be great to see the same people who now worship T.O. crucify him because when things don't go well for him he is a cancer to a team. Its always about T.O. and not the team. Witness his exit from San Fran. Losing will bring out the true Owens. Wait and see. T.O. will rue the day he became a Eagle because no fans are tougher on a loser than Philly's, and bottom line is, he's a loser. A talented loser, but a loser nonetheless.

Argh! Stop saying TO! It's resounding in my brain over and over and over again! "TO this!" "TO that!" "TO spanks my momma every night!" "TO does the robot in the nude every time he gets a touchdown!" STOP SAYING TO! Just say Terrel, or Owens...but I can't stand all this TO talk anymore!

...sorry. I'm just going crazy because this has been the talk of sports for almost a week now.

Owens is a hell of a ball player. His statistics over the last several years are comparable to any other receiever in the league.

I thought the sharpie thing was funny, and his celebrations are unique.

Things I thought were total bullshit were when he celebrated on the "star" at midfield in Dallas. Total lack of respect. To make it worse, he didn't do shit when Teague knocked him on his ass.

It was also total bullshit when he ripped down the sign that a fan had hanging on the wall in the back of the end zone a couple weeks ago. He should not be tearing up opposing fans' property. Again, lack of respect.

Players like Rasheed Wallance, Milton Bradley, and Ty Domi have also been scrutinized for their irregular behavior towards fans and the sport. Perhaps he feels like he is being singled in on because he is the only player that is consistently acting like a jerk in the NFL.

Well that didn't take long. One loss and there's team player T.O. on the sidelines screaming at McNabb. I love it.

Yeah, I loved it, that was HILARIOUS. That could well have been a SB preview . Eagles will end up losing in the conference game as usual.

I was hoping Donovan would turn around and kick his ass. Not that he could, but it'd be fun to see him try.

I like it when they run the ball to the ref after a TD--watching Hines Ward flap his wings in the endzone was great though.

I don't see what the big deal is about him showing up that assclown Ray Lewis. That guy gyrates and gloats ever time he makes a tackle so what TO mocked him.
BTW...Skip Bayless is a dumbass who should be barred from any sort of sports coverage.
