TFP Suicide Pool Week #9

Week #9 of the TFP Suicide Pool (And then there was two)

Week eight is over and only two remain. Dengar and Jesus Malverde have outfoxed us all. We had started with 57 in week one, dropped to 40 for week two, seventeen going into week 3, lost three players week three, lost 5 players in week 4, and three more let loose the mortal coil in week 5, week six had all surviving, week 7 we lost three more and in week 8 we lost one more. If your name is on the following list, you may continue on. If your name is not on this list, you are more than welcome to post a pick, if you are willing to receive harsh and embarrassing comments made about you since this is for the remaining participants only. (Congratulatory or self-deprecating messages are welcome.)

First a repeat of the rules:

1. Each week you must pick one team to win that week. (Point spreads are irrelevant!) If they win you continue on in the pool the next week. You lose, you are out.

2. You may only pick a team one time during the pool to win a game. Once you have picked a team, that can not be used for the remainder of the season. (This is where the strategy comes into play - choose wisely when to take your "sure thing" team.) If you “accidently” pick a team you have used previously, you will lose and then be prepared to be mocked and thoroughly embarrassed (hereinafter referred to as the “inharmony rule”).

3. (New tie breaker rule starting week 9) Now that there are only two players left, in case both players lose the same week, we need a tie breaker(s). The first tie breaker will be “Strength of Schedule”. If both players lose the same week, then the total win loss records of the teams the players picked will be calculated, and the player picking the lowest winning percentage teams will win. In other words, if one player has a combined 30-10 record, he would lose to the 25-15 player since the other player picked fewer “easy” teams. The second tie breaker (if needed) will go to the player who picked the “worst” winning team during the various weeks based on winning percentage only. The final (if needed) tiebreaker will be total points by the player’s winning teams.

Since this is a single elimination, be sure to have your pick in by midnight EST the night before the first game. If the mod (thanks again Spectre) locks the thread before you pick, you have not picked, and have lost.

Now on to the remaining participants. Again, if you name isn’t on this list, your pick will not count. If it is on this list, accept the applause from the fans.

Dengar, Jesus Malverde

Best of luck to the remaining players. The cream has risen to the top.

I do have a backup plan though. A win in the tfp suicide pool is worth a soul right?

i picked the jets last week so i might as well stay in the same state.
