Who else saw the Steelers smash the Pats? NE did get screwed over by injuries, but Pittsburg just played harder, and MUCH more physically than NE did. Roethlisburger had another big game - he felt the pressure better and seemed more poised than Brady did. NE definately felt the loss of Ted Washington today, because their lack of size up front was definately a key to Pitt's win.

Thank God. It is about time. My sorry team is soon going to set the record for consecutive road losses, so it's nice to see the Patsies lucky streak end.

Great Victory by Pitt. Don't forget, they were missing a key player too, All Pro Nose Tackle, Casey Hampton.

What I loved the most was when cheap shot artist Rodney Harrison got planted by Bettis in the open field. That shit was great!

as much as i wanted to see the Pats' streak end, i didn't want to see it happen at the hands of the steelers. oh, well.

All good things come to an end. PAtriots were dreadfully undermanned, but they have overcome that problem before. Time to start a new streak to carry them to the playoffs.

Yeah... without Dillon they are nothing. You need a balanced game in the NFL, and they had no run. Brady couldnt do it all.

I loved that too. I was also happy that the Pitt's WRs were strong enough and physical enough to offset NE's ridiculous, mugging-like style of defending the pass. I also enjoyed seeing Brady get planted - I've just never liked the guy.

Dillon was a big loss to NE, but Hampton was a big loss to Pitt (forgot about him) and Pitt dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, so I'm not sure how effective he would have been.

Go Steelers!! This may have been the set up game for the AFC Championship. I never would have thought the Steelers were going to have such a great year, but man oh man, stay out of their way.

I wasn't able to watch, and I'm glad I missed it. I can't give any opinion on if they deserved to win, since I didn't see it. I really hope Dillon and Law are better for next week.

Painful game to watch. The Pats just got beat everywhere. For a 6-0 team I thought their play had been pretty weak all year long, and it finally cost them. I figure the Pats will get another shot at them in the playoffs, and if healthy I figure the results will be different. On Sunday though, the Steelers were the far better team.

We were also missing linebacker Kendrell Bell, riding Big Bens arm to the super bowl

I was looking forward to this game all week long and then I wasn't able to watch it. Stupid CBS. I got stuck with the Raiders vs. Chargers game, and even though it was a blowout they didn't change it to the Patriots vs. Steelers game until the game was over. Anyways, this was the week that a lot of people had the Patriots losing, but a 21 game winning streak is still a great accomplishment.

No kidding. So much for that NFL learning curve. (and so much for eli manning too I suppose :))

Eli who? :lol: Although our draft pick was excellent, we should have picked up big Ben, this kid has some talent and is well on his way to the pro bowl. But NOOOOOOOOO, we got stuck with Scary Kerry :| . What a mistake that was.

--For the impact that Ted Washington's loss is please ask the Raiders how he's working out for them. Brady wasn't poised because of the patchwork offensive line, they had only one or two players in their regular positions. Not to mention the two starting running backs (Patrick Pass, and Dillon) were hurt so without a running threat, the D could just play pass.

--After all this, I couldn't agree more. They have played sort of uninspired for much of the season, and have not really played one game well from beginng to end. They would have had to make 0 or 1 turnover in the Pittsburgh game to stay in it with their depleted personnel on the road. Another major factor, probably the largest, actually was that Pitsburgh was coming off of a Bye so they had more opportunity to rest and prepare. Ben looks pretty good, but because of missing Law and Poole in the secondary, they had to rotate coverage to guys who wouldn't need help normally, so it exposed other areas. Anyway Pittsburgh played well and these teams might meet later in the season so we'll see.

The problem for the Pats is they had no one to throw the ball to, at least no one that could catch it and do damage. They had no one to punish the middle of the defensive line on the ground with Dillon out so they couldn't take advantage of Pitt's missing NT. The Pats defensive secondary is beat to crap, too. On top of all that, Pitt had two weeks to prepare and did a phenomenal job.

I'm a huge Pats fan, but they deserved to lose that game. They made too many mistakes, dropped passes, stupid penalties, turnovers, etc. This game was either a wake up call for them or it's the beginning of the end of their amazing success. Time will tell.

That all said, it was only one game, there's nine more to play. I think the Pats will see Ben and his boys in the playoffs.

and then loss number two comes at the hands of St. Louis this sunday, woot!

Goth was a monster but NE didn't seem like they wanted it as much as Pitt did.

Considering the Pats are having to play Troy Brown, a wide receiver, as a DB, I think the Pats are doing o.k. I would love to see a healthy Patriot squad going against the Steelers in the playoffs; it would be a completely different story. Yes, the Steelers beat the Pats, but I still believe the NE is the better team and will prove it in the long-run.

I expect the Patriots and the Steelers will meet again. Hopefully the Patriots will have back many of their key players for the playoffs. Brady sure looked better when he had more choices and a good running back. Belicheck is amazing as undermanned as the defense was they controlled a high powerred offensive team. The Rams really got most of there points from mistakes and trick plays, lucky and cute, and without those plays they would have scored 10-14 less points. Thats maybe single digits!!! With so many players hurt, a WR playing DB, WOW!!
