The official "What the @%#! is wrong with *insert your team here*?!" thread.

What the @%#! is wrong with the Green Bay Packers?!

I am a die hard Packer Backer, but damn, they looked like they were on their way to the Super Bowl in week 1 and now we have lost two straight home games. I guess the rest of the leauge figured out that whole "Blitz on every down" thing we had going.

pixelbend 10-04-2004 10:04 AM

Quick note: The pack unloaded McKenzie today (to Norleans, we get QB JT O'Sullivan and a draft pick). Maybe his holdout at the first of the season didn't sit well with the defense. That could have been a factor in their suckiness lately. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

DDDDave 10-04-2004 12:24 PM

OK, I'll bite...

What the @%#! is wrong with my Buccaneers....

Lot's of teeth gnashing around these parts re: the Bucs 0-4 record so far. Hard to 'blame' anybody but as we all the know, the buck stops with the head coach. Gruden is on suicide watch until further notice. As is usually the case when an otherwise talented team does not perform up to expectations, injuries are the main cause. The Bucs have 5 starting wide receivers unavailable. Joey Galloway (received in a trade with the Cowgirls for Me-shawn); groin, out 6 weeks; Joe Jurivicius (fully recovered from a knee injury last year only to injure his back in training camp) out 3 more weeks; last years surprise starter Charles Lee, hamstring, (actually played on Sun., but fumbled to set up a Donkey TD); Edell Shepard (free agent who won a job in camp) knee, out for the season; and last but not least is Keenan McCardell who is under contract for 2.5MM, but refuses to play for less than the 4.5MM he thinks he is worth.
Starting tight end Ricky Dudley and off season acquisition Charlie Garner (a true 1,000/1,000 guy) out for the season with injuries. Draftee/kick returner Mark Jones, out for the season. Frank Murphy, special teams pro/second string kick returner, tore an Achilles on the opening kickoff on Sun.; out for the season.

So now our starting wide receivers are 38 year old Tim Brown, Packer cast-off Bill Schroeder, and rookie Michael Clayton. Tight end is Will Heller. You can see why we have opposing defenses quaking in their cleats.(NOT) Gruden's MO has been to use a wide variety of shifts and formations but with all these new guys it looks like a chinese fire drill sometimes. No continuity. At all.

Defense is playing well enough to win, but they have got to have some help. On Sunday it was painful to watch though. The Bucs only ran 3 offensive plays in the 4th quarter. We punted them down to the ten yard line with 7 minutes to go and they proceeded to run the clock down to three seconds on a long time consuming drive. Key play- stopped them at 3rd and 1 on the thirty only to have a defensive lineman offsides keeping the drive alive. A terrible 30 yard pass interference call keeps another third down play alive.

Coming into this year the expectations were not real high. Most people felt like 8-8 would be about right. 9-7, maybe 10-6 if we got real lucky. That was before the injuries. Hard to say now. If we can get our $&*^ together and get some of these injured guys back we could finish decently but it seems the playoffs are out of the question. We still have not played a division game so even 8-4 from here could give us an outside shot. But I look down our schedule and can't see 4 teams we are going to beat, no less 8. :( We've got NO and STL on the road the next two weeks and then CHI at home and then the bye week. If we don't win two out of those three we're toast.

But hey, my seats are on the shady side of the field, they didn't raise beer prices this year and there is a new crop of cute cheerleaders, so I guess there is always next year.

Signed,
A dissapointed, but still loyal, Buc fan.

What is wrong with my team? I will tell you what is wrong with my team, Kerry fucking Collins, that’s what. I have already stated my frustration about him in another thread, but I will do so here as well. Am I the only person in the world who knew that Collins is AVERAGE at best? Everyone said Collins would be perfect for the new Raider offense and that Collins is much better than Gannon and so on and so forth. I said from day one that Collins sucks. He is extremely slow, he cracks under pressure even when there is none, he can’t scramble if his life depended on it, he is so dazed that he failed to realize the ball has been snapped, he throws way too much INT’s and he is an overall dumb guy. He may have the arm, but what good is that when he makes more completions to the wrong team. I want Gannon back; we would have won with him. Everything Collins can’t do, Gannon can do amazingly. Hell, I say start Tui next week and put Collins at 2, he is worthless. As for other problems we have, coming into the Texan game, we had great defense and a great O line. That seems to have just disappeared yesterday. The number one QB in sacks, and we didn't even touch him?!!! WTF is that all about. How about the 8 false starts on offense, are you fucking kidding me?! Its time to move Sims at LG so he can’t complain about not hearing the snap count. This guy has been jumping off the line too fucking much since last season. Also, Sapp, you are getting paid how much? Instead of talking so fucking much, go out there and play, you haven’t done shit thus far. As for our special teams, I won’t even get into that. We better fix all of this shit before Sunday, otherwise INDI will slaughter us. Compare Manning to Carr.....thank you. After INDI we got Denver, so we better be prepared. I will leave it at that for now. I’m sure I will have much more bitching to do later.

wrongfullyaccuzd 10-04-2004 12:51 PM

What the @%#! is wrong with the Bills?!

Me, me, I know!

Drew fucking Bledsoe. He's been sacked 15 times this year (and that's in 3 games, the Bills had a bye in week 3.) Don't tell me that's not his fault, that it's the O-line, blah blah. The man can't move. He's a tall guy, if he would just fall forward he'd gain yardage. But instead he just kind of hangs out in the pocket and when he's not completely oblivious to the rush, he just takes the sack. When he does manage to get the ball off, he throws it to no one. On Sunday against the Patriots several times he just threw it into open field, no where near a receiver, except the one time it went right into the hands of a NE defender.

It doesn't end with Bledsoe. The play-calling, for the most part, is horrific. Mike Mularkey is supposed to be some kind of play-calling genius, but apparently he's never heard of a screen pass. He's also never heard of, until Sunday, using your lightning-fast first round pick (Lee Evans) to spread the field for your Pro-Bowler (Eric Moulds.)

Bring on JP Losman, broken leg and all.

Ace_O_Spades 10-04-2004 10:46 PM

What the fuck is wrong with the packers?

Barnett looked like a deer caught in the headlights when Barber ran right by him on Sunday.... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

omega2K4 10-04-2004 11:01 PM

What the fuck Tennessee Titans. You've got one of the better defenses in the league, but you can't stop the run.

I understand the losses to the Colts and Jaguars, both are tough teams, but WHAT THE FUCK!!??!?!? THE FUCKING CHARGERS.

But congrats to Billy Volek, he played one hell of a game for a guy that only play 1 and 1/2 games prior to the game.

CityOfAngels 10-05-2004 01:54 AM

What the @%#! is wrong with my Clippers? They sucked before I was a fan, they sucked when I became a fan, and even now they still suck! Hell, what the @%#! is wrong with ME?

goppers 10-06-2004 02:03 PM

Hrmm tough question. well, they haven't been great against the run. ummm special teams have been weak... uhhh hmm. I'd guess they will lose at some point. That won't be good. The backup RB is something of a question. i guess.

The Pats are pretty good. I'm not too worried about them.

That said they have lost a couple of players for the season... you never like to see that. shrug.

gcrgcr 10-06-2004 10:48 PM

What is wrong with CSU Rams?

* Can't Tackle
* Young Defense
* Average Linebackers
* First year starter at QB
* Poor offensive coordination by coaches

Hard to remember that these are kids and college is cyclic with graduations etc... Sucks to lose to USC 0-49 and then to Minnesota. Currently 1-4 with only win over Div. 1-AA Montana State. It is an ugly year...

Haha, yeah, we just have to look forward to next year... these injuries this year are crazy! The Bears can't keep the same people on the field for 2 games in a row... it's bad times. But, at least we've got the (or close to it) youngest team in the league, lots of potential, can't wait for next year to see if they can live up to it.

Rdr4evr 10-10-2004 11:34 AM

OK MOTHER FUCKER COLLINS PIECE OF SHIT!!!! I fucking give up, I hope Collins gets a career ending injury, I hate that cock sucking fucking interception throwing piece of shit. I hope you are injured Collins, you are the worse NFL player of all time. I would also like to apologize to Gannon for having to watch this BS. Hey, atleast people might actually realize you are ten times better than Collins now. Collins does not deserve to play, bring Tui in. Its 4th quarter and I'm not even going to watch this disgusting game anymore, makes me sick to my fucking stomach. Callahan was right, we are the dumbest team in America. Fuck this horrible lazy team....we need to start from the ground up...we are horrible. FUCK COLLINS! DIE COLLINS! FUCK COLLINS! GET INJURED YOU WORTHLESS SORRY PIECE OF SHIT! I PRAY TO GOD YOU ARE INJURED SO WE CAN START TUI! Worthless asshole.

The Buckeyes and Browns. Geez, neither one has an offense, and Tressel is just willing to play for FG's. I have no idea what Davis is coaching towards. Mediocrity, I guess. I'll cut Tressel more slack since he lost so many players, but man, the handoff up the gut, pass, pass, punt offense is getting old. I dream of 3 yards and a cloud of dust, that would be an offense explosion in the Horseshoe!

Sorry, it was in the heat of the moment. Although I still hate Collins dearly (slack jawed bastard), I am a little more calm now. If Norv doesnt start TUI in the next game...our season is over. The only think I could hope for is a Collins injury. Nothing life threatening or painful....just enough to keep him off the field.

Not that he shouldn't be scrambling, but he's getting up there and should certainly know better than to drop his fucking shoulder and try to power a few more yards out of the run.

For as much supposed talent there is supposed to be on this team, I for one aint' seen shit. Every week, all the tv guys talk about Kerry Collins, Tyrone Wheatley, Gallery, Porter, Zereoue (I hope I spelled that right) and Jerry Fuckin' Rice. They talk about how talented the ball team is. I for one have yet to be impressed. I have yet to see these guys put together an outstanding drive and sustain the momentum.

Don't get me started on the defense. Jeezy Chreezy these guys are supposed to be great. Woodson, Buchannan x2, Warren Sapp and Big Ted, all commendable players, but can't seem to stop anything consistently. Instead they let the other guys march downfield, seemingly at will. It's just fucking irritating to see these guys be down by 14 and watch them celebrating when they stop one in the backfield. Try to stop'em all, dickhead! Do they understand how embarassing it is to see them do that stupid "you ain't going nowhere" celebration when they're down by 21? They've been going "nowhere" on you all day. You want to celebrate now?!?!

They can't possibly do any worse than last season, but five wins is a long way away.

Norv Turner's weak. Kerry Collins is weak. This whole team is weak. Warren Sapp should keep his mouth shut until he earns the right to open it, Tui should start against Denver and Curry and Whitted need to see more passes their way.

The last two seasons Gannon hasn’t played well? You mean the 3 games he played this season and the 7 he played last? Although he didn't play up to his standards in those several games, could you blame him with an O-line like that? If they don’t commit false starts, they give Gannon no more than 2 seconds in the pocket. Gannon is not superman, you can’t expect him to throw passes with no time in the pocket, even if he is a damn good scrambler, a QB can only do so much. As for him dropping his shoulder and running, I assume you are talking about the injury. First off, Brooks speared him on that play and the refs were too stupid to pull the flag out. That should have been a personal foul as well as an ejection. You cannot helmet butt a player, especially a QB who is so valuable to the team. Gannon was already down; all Brooks had to do was touch him. And the guy was trying his heart out; he wanted to prove to the league and Raider nation that he could still play like he did in 02. He worked his ass off in the off season just to satisfy us fans.

As for your list of our players.

Collins - He is garbage, I already stated that, he is the reason we are 2-3. With Gannon we would be 4-1. Look at my first post to see why I think he is the reason we lose.

Wheatley - He is a strong runner and could break it open at any time. The major problem with him though is that he is always getting injured, otherwise he is a fine RB.

Porter - This guy needs to step up a bit more and be a leader. He has had several decent catches and gains, hell, even 1 or 2 nice ones, but he still has yet to live up to my expectations (and the rest of the fan for that matter). He has the size and speed of T.O, he just needs to be a better route runner. Give him time and he will show. After all, he is our next Tim Brown.

Zeroue - Now this guy I got good feelings about. Did you miss the TD run he had in Houston? He had over 100 yards rushing in that game. He would have had the same at Indy as well had Middleton not done that moronic hold; otherwise he would have had a TD. He plays with the passion we need, and he has yet to disappoint me. After all, we are missing Fargas and Wheat.

Gallery - He is well focused and has played damn well. He plays with everything he has out there and he is giving our pathetic QB plenty of time to get the pass off. He is talented in both T and G positions.

Rice - I love him, but his career is over. Sorry Rice, you just cant keep up with the youngsters anymore.

You cannot have a good drive when the fucking QB throws 7 picks in 2 games and fumbles 3 fucking times. It is ridiculous.

The problem with our D is that we DO have all star players, we just don’t pick the right plays at the right times. First off, we need to drop the 3-4 because it is not working in our favor, especially when we keep rushing fucking 3. Stop rushing 3, our LB's are not that great and we will get burned every time. We need to get back to the 4-3. We cannot get a fucking sack if our lives depended on it. Carr who is the number 1 sacked QB in the league and we cannot even touch him once? Pathetic. CWood and Buch have been doing fairly well, but this Walker guy needs to be cut. Did you see the way he got raped by Wayne....this is not pop warner guy, get your ass in shape. As for Sapp, you are getting paid how much asshole? Get your ass in shape and back up the talk. Otherwise, so far he has just been a waste of money.

AND FOR FUCKS SAKE WE NEED TO STOP THESE GOD DAMN STUPID PENALTIES. These things are KILLING us on third down. How many times did we GIVE Indy the fucking TD while we took it away from ourselves? We just need to play smarter football. As it goes right now, Callahan was right about what he said.

I will say this again, if Turner is a moron and starts Collins again we will get slaughtered by the Donkies. If Turner is smart, he will start TUI, otherwise we are well on our way to another 4-12 season, if that. Collins is KILLING our morale.

Jadedfox 10-11-2004 11:04 PM

Haha Packers are in last place in the NFC North. You gotta love it. What a Monday night debacle against the Titans.

pixelbend 10-12-2004 04:15 AM

I, for one, don't love it.

I think we need to go back to defensive training camp, because some of these guys obviously missed it. This is a tackle, say it with me...tack-le. Cripes!

shamalama 10-12-2004 11:08 AM

WTF is wrong with my Oakland Raiders! This could take all day.

I warned a lot of my Raider fan friends that Collins was not that good. He's been no more than a .500 QB with a TD/INT ratio that is nearly even. They were all salivating at the thought of Gannon going out and him coming in and lighting it up. Yeah... we'll be back to old Raider Football!!! Throw it down the field!!! The Vertical Game!!! Blah, blah blah. Be careful what you wish for. What you are seeing is what you get from him. He's the 2nd coming of Marc Wilson.

Sapp is out of position on the outside in a 3-4 and is a little overrated at this point in his career. Move him back inside in a 4-3 base and see what happens. Speaking of overrated, Charles Woodson is not nearly as good as he or others think he is but he is not really the problem (other than his pathetic work ethic). Our secondary is weak overall.

Barry Sims does need to move inside to G. He's too scared to get beat since his Olé act on Simeon Rice in the Super Blow. Get Gallery at Tackle now and quit dicking with him. Start Grove over Treu to get some nastiness on that line and start running over people. Zereoue is not an answer either. He's a 3rd down back that shows flashes like the Texans game but will mostly disappear (ask Steeler fan). This team and offense needs a feature back (can you say Ricky Williams).

Someone needs to light a fire under the a$$ of guys like Porter, Napo and PBuch. These guys definitely need to step up their game... and they haven't. The team is now devoid of any leaders with Gannon gone for good. I feel Tui can be that leader with his style of play. If you ever saw his game at UofWash you would agree. He's never really been given a chance. Maybe he's not ready, but I honestly believe he's better than Collins. I know he's got way more fire and smarts. Collins has a million dollar arm and a 2 cent head. He's an emotionoless turd out there.

And finally, STOP THE GODDAMN STUPID F'ING PENALTIES!!! How long is this going to go on? Address it once and for all.

Sorry, that is all.

P.S. To the Buc fan, Gruden is overrated and an egomaniac. Are those moronic facial expressions starting to wear on you yet? And FYI, Garner was never gonna sniff 1000/1000 again. Pittman is probably better and this point of their careers.

ForwardtoDeath 10-12-2004 12:22 PM

WTF is wrong with my giants?

I mean, they were supposed to suck ass this season, but they are looking real good. Tiki is a stud, Warner is actually looking like a half-decent qb and the O-Line, which was supposed to be one of the worst in the league is actually holding up pretty well. Theres something wrong with this picture, but oh well, GO GIANTS!!

Tralls 10-12-2004 03:53 PM

What the &^*&^ is wrong with my 'Boys!

They have a geriatric QB, I big-mouthed WR, a RB who cant fall forward for a yard. This team has gotten real old, real fast. Big Bill is slipping...and dont get me started on ole' Mack Brown "clap clap clap".

A lot of that blame should be shifted to the offensive line, but you can't blame it for everything. The games I've seen with Gannon at the helm are schizophrenic at best. One minute he looks fantastic, chucking passes downfield and the next he's scrambling around as if he's unsure about what to do. He dropped some weight this season and looked to be on his way and in fine form until he was injured.

As for the injury, he should've known better. Yes, it was a very illegal hit. However, how many seasons has he had to cut short because of injury? How many playoff hopes have been trounced because of untimely injury? He's been through quite a bit injury-wise and should be playing smarter. A lot of that fault fall on the O-line, but, in the end, he ran out of the pocket. You can't expect the line to protect him once he leaves what little safety there is behind the line. He gambled. He lost. Was it worth it? Nope. Now we're stuck with Brother Kerry and Brother Kerry ain't getting shit done.

As for all the talent....It's there, it's just not clicking. Porter, Jolley, Wheatley, Zereoue, Gallery are all comendable players. They just don't seem to be on the same page sometimes. And good old Kerry Collins isn't going to get them there anytime soon. Flashes of brilliance and a lot of mediocrity in my opinion.

And you're absolutely right about the defense. During the Houston game....well, you watched it, right? I don't need to elaborate. I'll just honorable mention Warren Sapp, who is probably the biggest joke, both on and off the field, that the Raiders signed in the off-season. This guy talks a good game, but I've yet to see him pull the trigger and make the decisive play. If I'm wrong, by all means point it out. It seems we spent in inordinate amount of money for a shit-talking bobblehead and that's such a shame.

Stupid penalties seems to be a seasonal rite of passage for Oakland. Last season was full of them, the season before that was full of them. The only difference between the two is that during the Superbowl run we had an offense capable of scoring enough so it didn't matter so much. I would love to see the number of penalties fall, but I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.

And again, you're absolutely right. Collins is a waste. I don't see how starting Collins this week is going to get us a win against Denver. In fact, I see more of the same. Mediocrity. Mediocrity isn't going to get us to the playoffs. Hell, mediocrity isn't going to win us 5 games in the today's NFL.

WTF is wrong with the fucking Cincinnati Bengals??? For the 15th year in a row we're sucking ass (with a short recess last year). Carson has his experience now, give Kitna the job. He's proven. WHY CAN'T WE FUCKING TACKLE OR STOP THE RUN IN ANY WAY???

Last year's goddamned NFC Champs go 1-4! We suck so bad, South Carolina is thinking about disowning us!

Yeah, we got some bad injuries, but shit man! We should be doing better than this!

I was so hoping that last year wasn't a fluke... but I guess it was. Oh well, maybe we will get a good draft pick next year. At least we got that to look forward to.

Today is indeed a dark day. We are falling apart like last season. Gannon wont be back this season or maybe ever again. Rice is most likely gone, Porter is not happy...:(. I will post what I posted in a Raider forum yesterday as I am to sad to type anymore about it today.

First off I would like to state that Kerry "turnover" Collins needs to go. Now I unfortunately know this will not happen as Turner already stated that Kerry will remain starting QB, but that decision is honestly beyond comprehension. Everything Gannon could do beautifully, Collins can not do at all. Collins has zero mobility, zero vision, zero accuracy and no passion or competitiveness whatsoever. We need him to be a leader and step up, but unfortunately he is busier thinking about which bar he should go to after the game, he is killing our morale. I would like to apologize to Gannon for having to witness this embarrassing and unenthusiastic performance as well.

Next up, our 0 Line: What is the deal with penalties lately? These continuous penalties are so asinine that it makes me wonder if our guys are even awake half the time. For god’s sake, enough false starts, if you can’t hear the snap count, keep your damn eye on the ball! Today we were not as terrible as last week in the false start department, but instead we don’t seem to be able to get in a correct formation. Is it really that difficult to understand that seven men need to be on the LoS?! What I think we need to do is make these adjustments, from left to right: Gallery, Sims, Grove, Middleton, Walker.

Our D: I don’t even know where to begin with these guys. I will say this though, anytime the S tackles the RB more than The D-line or LB's, we have a MAJOR problem. So much for the 4-3, eh? Sapp? You are getting paid how much? Why don’t you back up the talk and make a play, or do you miss Tampon Bay too much? Walker: You need to go play some Pop Warner and learn the basics. Grant, AGB: *sigh*. If I see one more 3rd and long conversion, I will lose my mind. If I see a conversion over a moronic penalty, I will jump out the window. We MUST stop them on 3rd down, and we aren’t even coming close!

Special Teams: LoL....that is all I have to say about that.

I'm sorry if this sounds negative, but I am sick of making excuses for us. I am to point where I am fed up with our lack of discipline, passion, intensity, pride, poise and dare I say, commitment to excellence. We look like a bunch of weaklings with no will to even play the game. I see no heart in any of these guys. This is why I severely miss Gannon. He was a true Raider with all the qualities we need in a QB, exact opposite of Collins. Get your heads out of your god damn asses and play some football. We have gone from being the most feared team in the league to being the laughing stock. We are headed to another 4-12 season, if that even, if things don’t pick up fast. I mean, the Bolts are in second for god’s sake!!!

I am just furious because I LOVE the silver and black and I HATE to see them struggle like this.

RAIDERS 4 EVER!!

WTF is wrong with the BIlls I hope that they bring in Losman as soon as he is ready even though Bledsoe did pretty well on Sunday. With the team doing so poorly this year we don't even have a nice pick to look forward to in the draft next year as it has been traded away. Wouldn't mind seeing some run blocking by the O-Line as well as a burst of speed out of McGahee

Yet even after all of this I am still optimistic for next week and our first winning streak of the season

It's not Alabama's fault...it's a conspiracy. A huge multilevel conspriacy to keep them down! Yeah!

What the FUCK is wrong with my Saints?!

Oh I know... We are last in the league in defense! That explains a lot!
