Pool Team name?
 

Kind of a spinoff from the bowling thread. I'll be joining a pool leauge next week and I need a creative team name.

Some of the ones I've heard are: Stickmen, Short Strokes, ERO Speedwagon, Gimme a Break and Lucky call.

Has anyone else ever played in a pool leauge and seen some unique creative names?

In my league we have a bunch of different names. Most tie in with your location/bar name. Here are two that don't:

Eight Men Out (the teams all have max 8 players)
Eightball Express (picture a train)

One is called The Wanderers becuase their original location closed and it took them time to find a permanent place. The key to the name depends on if you plan to get a shirt or not. Some make more sense if you have a design in mind. Otherwise, just go with something original. If you can, give us your bar/location name for some other suggestions.

Hmmmm . . in this particular league you don't have a home bar so to speak. All the teams gather at one place "Snooker Shack" and play there. Each team has 3 members. There aren't any teams that wear matching shirts (like in bowling) although that's an interesting idea and as a graphic artists something I could excell at. I'll have to go into Illustrator and start messing around with some ideas.

OK, that's a help. Since you don't have a home location, you focus on the three aspect.

Obvious:
Three Amigos
Triple threat
etc.

Sexual:
The third input
Reaching third base
Tri-sexuals
57 inches long and hard (sorry for the non-metric conversion)

Pool:
Three in the side/corner
Three rails

Misc:
Breaking racks and hearts

I could go on forever.

Don't forget the ever so obvious, "Pocket Poolers"
Or there's Mis-cues, Rack 'em, The Rackers.

Great ideas . . I'll try to play off some of the suggestions and formulate a name. :)

I always liked the name "Chalk Jockeys"

How about the "Ball Breakers"

Maybe you could make a play on the mean of "pool" like a place where you swim. You name could be "Marco!", or... I got nuthin'.

"Better Than You" is a good name :)

Swollen Package is always a good one. :) Since it's a 3 person team, Big Jim and the twins sounds pretty good also.

they are fun but you probably can't use them but i think they are cool

great ideas. Ball Breakers is a great name. I love it since i'm a huge AC/DC fan. I'm gonna get to work designing a logo for that. In the mean time a name has already been chosen. We're gonna stick with the a former name from a current team member. But next season in January . . Ball Breakers it is!

No, wait!
'Colour of Honey' - bear costumes, or at least furry mitts.
'Rack in black' - black shirts.
'All your baize are belong to us' - a bit long, that one.
