Who is the best tacklebreaker in the NFL?

Hmm...i'd go with Jamal Lewis, once he is running at full speed its pretty damn hard to stop him,

I'm going to go with Mike Alstott. I think a power runner has to be the choice here. An exception that comes to mind, though he doesn't still play, it Roger Craig.

No doubt, Jamal Lewis. Tackles freak when they see him barreling at them. Late in a lot of games they want no part of him. I remember one opposing tackle last year saying he thought his arm was coming off when he tried to tackle Lewis.

I gotta go with my boy Jamal Lewis. He's big and strong and has a really quick explosing from the backfield to the the line of scrimmage. I just hope he can break this tackle the federal government is ready to set. I think he'll do it. FINGERS CROSSED!

I agree. I also would argue Priest Holmes should be considered.

I would also have to say mike alstott, the man just runs over everyone who gets in his way. Maybe i would have thrown in ricky williams about a month ago.

Is it just me, or is one of the best aspects of watching football watching people run over defenders?

I think it is. That's why I always loved Earl Campbell and Bo Jackson. No runningback, in my opinion, was as enjoyable to watch as Barry Sanders. But there's just something special about seeing two men go head up against one another in a costest of brute force.

One of my favorite runs of all time is an Earl Campbell touchdown run where he meets up with a Hall of Fame linebacker right at the goal line with an EPIC collision. They both gave it everything they had, and both felt the effects of that one hit long after the game had ended.

Anybody remember the name of that linebacker? I recently saw both of them talking about it on ESPN or Classic Sports.

I remember that Earl Campbell was on the Houston Oilers. As for the tackler, I'm not sure. It might have been the Bears (probably Butkus), but that's a total guess. I'll try Googling it.

..................... Hooray Google! It was the Raiders' Jack Tatum!

Barry Sanders was fun to watch.

Jamal Lewis and Priest Holmes are definately the two choices I'd pick for best tackle breakers. It was interesting to see them both last season and I expect nothing but good things (granted if Jamal will play this season) from both of them.
