Paintball
Hey, I was wondering if any of you guys play paintball. I know i do and it's a blast. If you do play, list your marker/upgrades or equipment, or experiences or whatever.
As for me I shoot a Spyder EM1 with a few different upgrades including an AKA Sidewinder Reg, System X Stickies, a 14in Dye Excel, Shocktech Drop and ASA, PMI Compressed air tank, and macroline. As for equipment i have Dye Core Division pants, a Redz Dimension 3+2 style harness, JT liquid jersey, 12 vlt Revolution Hopper, and a Dye Invision Mask. -PS i'll get pics of it soon. |
Man I just use the stuff they give me, makes it fair when everyone uses the same equipment. Great game though. Still I find it most fun to just come out attacking rather than go through any complicated guerilla tactics. Still that's just me....
|
I played for a while with a decently modified Tippmann 98 (nothing too fancy, I never got that much into it).
Now I'm out of money for it, as real ammo isn't cheap either. :) |
Heh, nice to see we've got a few players here. I just got back from a 2 day scenario with play up untill 12am...woosh me=tired....and night play is crazy stuff.
|
Woot for 24hr games. Im a rather large fan of the MXS Series.
|
I play about once a month, but I use the rental equipment. They use Tippmann 98s.
|
our field uses Tippmann Pro Carbines and they have to be the most indestructable guns i have ever seen.
|
Play occasionally. Got tired of seeing the arms race with people with too much money burning a hole in their pockets (You all know the ones... they use Angels!).
Went back to the grass roots. I now play with a PTXtreme handmarker. 12gm CO2, 10 round mag tube. Love eliminating the ones with their mega-bucks guns. It's not the gun, it's how you play the game. |
Yea there's nothing better that some fool out there shooting five thousand rounds a miniute with some fully automatic gun. I can't stand that! But I use a plain spyder baby it never fails me.
|
i dont play but i'd really like to get into it... i know wrong thread. but can you guys give me a site to get some stuff thats prtty cheep and realiable?
|
best site that i have used is www.paintballgateway.com and some cheap, yet reliable markers would be
-Tippmann 98 Custom -Spyder Compact, Spyder Xtra, Spyder e-99 -Any of the PMI Pirahna line as for mask/hopper things I'd reccomend a JT Spectra w/Thermal(pretty cheap) lense or a Dye Invision ($$$ though) and just stick with a regular hopper like a VL 200 or if you want a faster more consistant feed I'd look at a Revolution 12vlt hopper or a Ricochet AK. Good luck! As for that Quote:

I'm proud to say that I have been, and continue to be, apart of the original 24 hour scenario game. I'm personal friends with Wayne Dollack, the original creater.. If any of you have an oportunity to play any of his games, do it.. He travels.. But the best are in Ocala, Florida, at none other than Waynes World of Paintball..

Paintball-ers?
any TFPers play paintball on a regular basis?
I went yesterday (sunday) and now, Im hooked. Found a great gun on ebay last night at a decent price. Now to find a good mask and hopper for my new toy! Edit: this thread has been merged with a nearly identical old thread. |
paintball is great, but it just cost to much money:(
|
after the initial cost of a good gun, theres not much exspense. Paintballs are not that high.
|
I try to go paintballing as often as I can. That sport is the most intense thing I have ever played. Unfortunately I haven't played in about a month; I usually try to go once every other weekend.
My gun is a black dragun, its pretty cool, it chops a bit, but that is really the barrel's fault, and the trigger pull is fucking nice, you barely have to tap it and that thing goes off. The cost of the sport isn't all that high considering that people usually only play once a week at most. It's just that compared to other sports it is costly, but as a hobby it aint nothin. |
Im a regular paintballer but not lately unfortunately. Im kinda from the old school paintballer before these autos and semi autos came out. I have two guns a Sheriden PGP and a Sheriden P30DF. There heavy well built guns both pumps mind you and I get a kick out of hitting younger guys with the hopped up guns. But Im still debating getting a semi

Please see http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthr...&threadid=2432 and try to search for threads before creating new ones..

I sure hope so, I mean why do you care who posts what. I see no reason to search for an old post before creating a new one when its general banter. If you don't like it, don't read it and move on with life. |
I actually gave up the hobby.. I just ran out of time and money. Got rid of my Black Magic and everything.. that gun was awesome..
|
Paintball really sucks. Im sorry but its extremely lame.
You should really check out airsoft. Its much better. The guns are more accurate. They have more range. The ammo is MUCH cheaper and its a lot more fun. here are some links to get you started. Let me know if you have any questions. Info: www.airsoftohio.com www.airsoftplayers.com www.planetairsoft.net Retailers: In US-- www.combatdepot.com www.airsoftextreme.com Outside US www.redwolfairsoft.com a lot more fun! |
have played them both, and paintball riegns.
|
how so?

i spoke to a kid who played airsoft...convo:
me - "how do u know who's out?" him - "we play on an honesty policy" me - "wow, like that would work for us" how many pb-ers have ever wiped paint off their mask? i don't doubt that airsoft is fun, but i'm just seeing too much damage in the realism of all the guns. i'd hate to see the day some kid decides to paint the already tiny orange tip black and try to rob someone with it, then get shot by police, only to have parents try to sue the city for their child's lack of any common sense. oh...off the subject. yeah i like paintballin. at first it seemed kind of mindless, but after you play it, it's such an adrenaline rush. |
i hate when the fucking balls dont burst when they hit you in the head at close range, fuck that hurts
|
how so?
air-soft just doesn't interest me, Im don't play paintball because I want to pretend I'm taking over a city, or what-have-you like scenerios go. I play because shooting someone and hearing them scream because it hurt is plain fun for everyone! and I've never wiped paint off my mask, not sure how well that would work. It smears for a reason :P now, I have wiped it off My glove once without knowing, I thought it was splatter from a crack in the bunker. |
Since I merged this into an old thread, it deserves a bump to the top.
I started playing on friday with my buddy (phoenix1002) We went out to the woods on public land in our town, back where nobody bothers to go, and played with me having no hoppper (the spring to hold the elbow in place on my 98 custom is gone) and single-shot loading, and him with a Talon Ghost pump gun. I've spent almost 300 on equipment, he's spent almost 50, he hit me more than I hit him :) . I've got some nice welts from hits to bare arms. I took the hopper off his marker with one shot, and he lost the cap for it the second time I hit it. That was the most fun I've had in a long time. PS: my airsoft gun did not come with an orange tip, and is banned in some cities because of its resemblance to a real pistol. |
I looked at airsoft weapons
lordy...the ammo maybe cheaper, but the guns sure as hell are not :P |
Ok, I took the plunge and now own my own marker.
Its a Tippmann A-5, all stock for the time being. I took it for its maiden voyage today at a local field. It performed well and having your own gun sure beats the hell out of paying for the rentals each time. |
there is just something fun about waking up the next day and having quarter bruises on your hands
I love that! I haven't played in a few years, im looking to start up again...anyone in Arizona interested? |
As MSD said, I played for the first time the other day, with my wonderfully crap-tastic BE Talon. It kicks ass! (paintball, not the gun ;)) So now, I'm looking to get a 98c, J&J Pro 1 14", and a 12 oz CO2 w/butt plate, when I get the money. Anyone have any suggestions? From what I've read online, the 98c is a good, reliable gun, and I like the feel of it. I've also heard that the J&J Pro 1 is one of the best barrels in the $60 price range. I plan to get an expansion chamber, drop down, and car stock eventually, but that requires more cash.
One more thing... I need to figure out how to get this delivered to me without my parents knowing (my mother wouldn't approve, most likely). Anyone have any ideas how I could manage this? |
