I'm a Chelsea fan but that game yesterday between Arsenal and Middlesborough was a pleasure to watch!! 4 or 5 goals in 10 minutes and the quality of the goals (except for Henry's and Pires') were right up there with the best. I thought Boro could've of pulled off a win with a 3-1 lead but Arsenal came storming back. They are simply deadly on the counter-attack.

Boring boring Chelsea will have to look at playing more enterprising football. If 1-0 is the best they can do against sub-par opposition, they might see themselves out of the CL and going down to the better teams in the Pship, nevermind Arsenal.

now that we've signed Wayne Rooney (that was so much fun chanting Rooney Rooney at the Toffee's on Monday) people don't wanna underestimate us because you underestimate us at your own risk !! I do believe that Arsenal will win the league because they look far to good BUT Chelsea are playing a very risky game and will get caught out eventually and will leave the door open for us to grab second. As for relegation - Palace, West Brom & Newcastle (the clubs a shambles at the moment and may get caught up in it) BUT i hope they don't because they are to good to go down !

United were forced to buy Rooney because Newcastle made the first official bid.

We'll see who's laughing when he turns into another George Best.

What do you all think of Souness going to Newcastle?

I think he's big enough for the job, I just wonder what the Newcastle fans think?

How about you jwoody? Good for the club or not?

I'm finding it difficult to post in this thread without wanting to put my fist through the monitor.

My season ticket was paid for long before our crazy chairman decided to make some changes, all the while claiming he had a long term plan and that we - the supporters - would be pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

I need to go calm-down calm-down now, I may finish this rant another time or I may become a rugby fan. That Jonny Whatshisname plays for Newcastle you know.

I can, sort of, appreciate that Sir Bobby's position had become difficult. After Woodgate was sold he came out and said it wasn't his decision, he wasn't really interested in signing Rooney and I'm starting to wonder whether Patrick Kluivert was his signing.

I honestly thought we should have 'moved Bobby upstairs' at the end of last season, his connections in world football are a valuable asset but his football ideas are as old as he is.

The above statement seems more ridiculous every time I read it.

Everton won last night to move up just behind Chelsea. Whats better is that i had money on them. Ive never made a bet before, but the odds were really good this time for some reason so i took a gamble. Everton play well as a team, lets hope they can keep it up.

Yep.

Arsenal's my first choice as well. Just look at their undefeated streak. What's it at now? 47 games? Will they ever lose again?

Incase you hadn't noticed, Newcastle are only 41 games away from stealing Arsenal's record.

Before Sunday's game I had my doubts about Shaun Wright-Phillips' quality. Without him in their team I think we would have won comfortably.

We'll see if the team has improved under Souness tomorrow night when Norwich come to St. James' in the League Cup (the teams had a 2-2 draw earlier in the season).

I'll go out on a limb and predict a thrashing.

Magpies 4 - Canaries 0.

Don't even get me started on what happened on Monday morning. Let's just say, I lost every single shred of respect for Rooney.

Shaun Wright-Phillips is such unbelievable class, I can't believe Forest let him go because they thought he was too small.

Don't think I ever had any respect for the King of the Chavs - Mr. Rooney.

And wasn't it so grown up of Ruud van Horseface to own up to trying to ruin Ashley Coles career!!

I think the term 'kicked off the park' was never truer than after that game on Sunday.

Well, you can't really blame the players for trying everything in their power to win. The game had developed to such a multi-million industry and the stakes of winning are so huge that fair play and sportsmanship seems to play second fiddle in the game.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning what Rooney or Van Nistelrooy did. What Rooney did was cheating and van nistelrooy's tackle was, as a sky sports commentator put it, disgraceful.

But at least, one can understand why they did it. They did it to win, at any cost. Many top players, had and will continue to do this. It is something I have come to expect.

Having said that, the behaviour of these players is something the game could really do without.

Wright P is going to be a complete star very soon. You can see his confidence rising every game. Hopefully soon he will be an England regular and some natural width will benefit the whole team.

Man U could use a creative force in the midfield to control play, like Veron was occasionally. Their defense also isn't particularly good.

Arsenal's a pleasure to watch.

Thanks mate.

As I looked over various other football boards, I found that Liverpool fans have been strangely sympathetic to us.

Ruud got a 3 match ban though, so at least it's some kind of belated justice.

Here's some video of Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer kicking the shit out of each other.

Enjoy.

They were lucky not to be arrested as they left the pitch.

Estimated £240,000 fine for Bowyer and Kieron Dyer has been let off the hook by the club. Both players will miss three games, including the FA Cup semi-final against Man United.

From the video it looks as if they both gave as good as each other. I can't tell who threw the first punch. I guess Lee Bowyer has no reputation to defend, whereas Dyer... actually Dyer has a terrible reputation also.

Never a dull moment.

Allegedly Bowyer racial slurred Dyer so Dyer went in a'swingin'.
