2005 Lakers

So....now what??

The main players are obviously Shaq, Kobe and Phil.

This is your chance to speculate about what should happen and what will happen.

Feel free to include other players on the roster.

Phil retires briefly, but eventually returns to the NBA.

Malone retires, but Payton will sign on with someone else.

Kobe is acquitted, but won't wear the purple and gold next season.

MontanaXVI 06-16-2004 09:25 AM

Malone is gone no doubt about that.

GP has a PLAYER voidable clause, so it is more or less up to him if he wants to come back, now granted the team can give him the boot at anytime, but if he thinks Kobe might be gone or a more increased role for him, you never know he might come back.

Shaq is not going anywhere.

Phil does not care and it is hard to judge him as to if he wants another ring, or even bother with the whole season of BS anymore or not, the whole nothing left to prove train of thought going on with the "Zen Master"

Nimbletoe 06-16-2004 09:48 AM

Malone retires, GP probably stays in LA, so long as Phil moves on/retires. Kobe will probably get traded, Shaq won't be going anywhere. And Luke Walton gets in a car accident with his dad.

J/K about the last one ;)

cameroncrazy822 06-16-2004 11:21 AM

Kobe is in the slammer, Shaq is the only peice of the pie left, along with Rick "no talent" Fox. Phil Jackson retires to a Buddhist monastery in the Tibetan Highlands. Karl Malone retires and opens his own tractor trailor hauling company. Gary Payton is never heard from again after game #5.

Cowman 06-16-2004 12:17 PM

Tell me you didn't just say "Rick no talent fox"

Man dude.... that's pretty fuckin brutal!

djtestudo 06-16-2004 04:17 PM

Phil's gone.

Karl's gone.

Kobe's gone.

Next year, it'll be the Glove 'n' Aristotle show, with Derek Fisher and Luke Walton as sidekicks.

Out in the second round to the Kobe-led Phoenix Suns.

Halx 06-16-2004 04:22 PM

All I gotta say right now.. on the ACUTAL 5% chance that Kobe goes anywhere.. it'll be to the Memphis Grizzlies.

shaq=ignorance 06-16-2004 04:35 PM

Rick "no talent" Fox.

Is it just me, or did Fox's career go down the pipes when he got beat up by Doug Christie? If I remember correctly, he just was coming off a Championship performance, hadn't broke his foot yet, and still had reasonable hair. After Christie worked him, his team got stomped by the Spurs that year, he grew a HORRIBLE do ontop of his dome, broke his foot, and lost all of his talent.

Well Phoenix has the cap space and I'm sure Kobe's wife doesn't want to move to Tennessee. The Knicks, in the largest media market in the country, would be a perfect place if they can unload some contracts and lose Allan Houston in the expansion draft.

Halx 06-16-2004 05:28 PM

Phoenix does seem to be a popular choice.. hmm. I know Memphis has NO space at all, but they got Mr Logo himself and a team that is BUILT for Kobe.

I could see them becoming what the Celtics became in 2003-04: a miserable, untalented, and uninspired team. So far they have all the ingredients except the untalented part, but I'm sure a court case and free agency will take care of that. Oh, how I miss the mid-80's. :(

Wierd, about 95% of sports analysts think Kobe could go to the Clippers too.

They don't have the right brain-typing to collapse like that ;)

Go_AVS 06-16-2004 09:44 PM

Shaq stays

Phil is gone

Kobe is gone but Kobe is also "acquited" in a back room deal that says he has to play out his carreer for the Nuggets...

But by banging Vanessa Williams, it gives him all rights to having no talent and still having that fucked up mop he has on top of his head.

I'm sorry to say I did. Granted he's a role player but I didn't know that meant the rolls in his hair.... Not a fan, sorry.

Agreed, his stock has to go up a bit for that... plus all the radio shack shit he must have gotten. I think he may be sharing that ass with Vhing Rhames though.

Malone retires
no way. Malone will play two more years... somewhere... so he can set the all-time scoring record.

JoeyB 06-19-2004 05:26 AM

Phil Jackson.....check. The first officially out the door...
