i was looking to get a new driver and this past week usa today had an article on the new taylorMade r7 x-former...

so i did some digging and found THIS!!!

man, if i had 600 bucks to spend on a golf club, i'd save up 100 more and get a set of the Nike Slingshot Irons. my current driver works just fine. although that R7 would be pretty fun to use i think.

I talked to a couple low handicap guys who run an outlet store called 2nd Swing and asked if they had tried it yet. They did and said it was something else. Being an engineer I like the possibilities. I read an article in one of the golf rags that said there is a "tour preferred " model that has 8 plugs and over 600 options. The 2nd swing guys loan demos to try it (on the course) so I'm on the waiting list... more when I get my greazy hands on it!!

I'm getting one. Won't do crap for my game since my driving and irons are fine, but it looks to cool to pass on :D

Now, if I could just learn how to putt...

Is it legal? USGA has some rules left over from the hickory shaft days.

There is a club for the handicapped that uses a 9mm blank to push out a piston that can supposedly "drive" a ball 200 yards.
