Canadian World Cup team announced
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=84011
I'm more surprised as to the OMISSIONS as to the selections... No Todd Bertuzzi, Alex Tanguay, Keith Primeau or Vincent Lecavalier. I really wanted to see Bert on there. Let's face it, he's one of the best power forwards in the league, but Hockey Canada took the low road and avoided controversy... Their loss. But then again, they really don't need the distraction he would give, especially with Avs players in the lineup... Hang in there Bert, you'll get your chance in the future, if you don't pull more bonehead movies. No Lecavalier really stunned me, because he's just awesome! Once again, their loss. Overall should be a competetive team, but I would have named Iginla captain, he's fucking amazing, and a great leader.

Not having Bertuzzi is definately a mistake. He is a dominant forward and a great physical presence. I think St. Louis is going to end up being their leading scorer but Nash and Lecavalier should be on the team.

Ehh no Bertuzzi, would cause to large of a distraction I feel.
No Nash and Primeau was a little suprising, but then again, Canada always has to leave off some pople that are deserving, maybe we should set up a TC2 team and try to enter it

Nash might be a little inexperienced right now, but he'll make it there another year. Lecavalier should be on there and I even think someone like Matt Cooke should be there too. What the hell is Kirk Maltby and Brendan Morrow doing on there? Give them the boot and stick Vincent and Matt in there.

How was no nash suprising?
People *NEED* to get past the goals he scored. Wow, he scored 40 goals. That's a goal every two games. A good accomplishment in todays NHL, but still not something huge(and only like 9 goals after the allstar break). Then you look at his other stats...only 16 assists, and a MINUS 35! Throw in the fact that he's only like 19, and it wouldn't have made any sense to have him on the team. He was far, far below a number of other guys who didn't make the team (bertuzzi, kariya, vincent, tanguay, primeau..the list goes on) Yes, his plus minus was bad because he was on a shitty team..but on the otherhand, thats also why he had so many goals. When you're a good player on a shitty team, you can puckhog and shoot whenever you want. Think he would've got 40 goals playing along side someone like sundin, or forsberg, or bertuzzi? Heh. He might see the puck 2 or 3 times a game..
