I, Max
Has anybody caught this show on Fox Sports Net? It's Max Kellerman's new show after leaving ESPN.
I'm kinda disappointed. It's not like I liked Max before, but I was kinda hoping for something sharp and a bit more Jim Rome - instead, it's a complete knockoff of Around The Horn, but with stupid themes and only one reporter. They even work the name of the show into the commercial segues like they did in ATH. Bah!

I actually like it. It's kind of funny, people are chalking it up as a ATH rip-off, when basically it seems ATH was Kellerman.
What I would really like to see is if I, Max went head-to-head against ATH in the 5pm EST time slot, I would much rather see Kellerman and Holley (former ATH regular) go back and forth than have Reali and Blackistone have the same old comments.

One day an Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman walked into a pub together. They each bought a pint of Guinness. Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Scotsman fished the fly out of his beer and continued drinking it, as if nothing had happened. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!" |

Damn, ever since I got my new job, I havn't been around to catch the 3:00 hour of around the horn and PTI. Didn't even realize that around the horn was off the air. I miss those shows though--wonder what they're saying about Gagne's ridiculous numbers, Bond's ridiculous bitching, and the Redskin's ridiculous offseason spending. Not to mention boxing... I have to be one of the few people still around that is (moderately) interested in the sport, so I can put up with Kellerman for that.

Saw about five minutes the other day, and hated it. It's one thing when Max is a sarcastic moderator trying to be funny. It's another when it's him actually doing a large part of the arguments.
Give me ATH any day (and CheesePizzaMan, ATH and PTI are replayed on ESPNews the next hour after they are on, so I guess 4 PST)

Don't get ESPN News down here unless the Padres' Channel is feeling generous and wants to do espn coverage. Regardless, I don't get home at 4 very often, but I do miss my PTI. Even though the show is stupid and scripted and formulaic, I like hitting alot of topics quickly. Same for ATH.
