Charger's moving to Florida? WTF?
Seriously, you guys remember in Major League when they hired the manager of the Mud Hens to coach at the major league level? Its obvious to me that the Charger's want out of San Diego, they're doing everything to move to LA, and will probably do it in 2008. So are they trying to screw up on purpose to move the date up?
Christ I'm glad I'm not a Charger's fan but I do feel sorry for the seven on 'em. |

Yes, the Chargers do want out of San Diego, and with the dumbass decisions our city counsil has made in the past, the teams performance, cost, etc. as far as im concerned L.A. can have em.

Because it's so gorgeous. There is so much OTHER stuff to do that when the team's bad, you can go to the beach, or play golf, or visit the mountains, or a thousand other things. In a place like Green Bay, or Pittsburgh, there isn't that much else to do in the fall and winter other then watch football.

Well, Maxim printed two seasons ago that the NFL knew that not having a professional football team in Los Angeles was preposterous, and that San Diego would be that team. So, once again, Maxim was correct it seems. But I'm a member of the Raider Nation, so personally, I don't really care, just thought I'd share the Maxim story.

Technically, it's not preposterous. Because of there not being a team in LA, they get a guarenteed game every week on TV. If they got a team, and LA fans acted like they have historically, they wouldn't necessarally even get any game due to the league blackout rules.
That's why the league hasn't pushed harder for a team, and why there wasn't much effort to quell the fighting among ownership groups when LA lost to Houston for the expansion team a few years back. They really want the second-biggest market in the country to always have games on, so they get that extra revenue.

As a person living in the LA area, I can tell you that it would be tough for an existing team to get any following here. Everyone has either already switched allegiance to another team or are still Raider fans. Raider fans by far are most prevalent here in LA and I can't see many cheering for the Chargers, in fact it would be like adding one more home game to the Raiders schedule. On the down side, a lot of people like me find it hard to pick a favorite team, even though I am still a football fan.

Yeah, LA wouldn't work out for the Chargers. A) cause they suck. And B) the Raiders. San Diego is absolutely a Raider-hating town. No question about it. And it is my understanding that most of LA still hates the chargers.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out of town Chargers.
They don't deserve their fans. There are a lot of Charger fans out here (I am not one of them) who are loyal, knowledgeable and passionite. They are good fans that have not had a decent reason to cheer for years. The organization is a piece of driftwood. Move to LA already and get over it.

Im confused, so are they moving to Los Angeles, or Florida???
alot of posts are talking about them moving to Los Angeles (which is reasonable, considering that LA wants a team since the raiders left) but to move to Florida??? where in the hell would they go? Miami WILL NOT have two NFL teams, tampa bay is covered, and so is Jacksonville... Only reasonable area would be Orlando, which would never happen either... Im confused... |
