Who Watches the NFL Draft Live on TV?
Somehow I have been around or available the last few years and watched the draft on TV. Nothing real active mind you, but I have the TV on while I surf the internet and do stuff in the general vicinity of the TV. This year I am kinda excited to hear what teams draft what players and I am looking forward to it. I made sure that I would be around to watch it.
I have a bit of a dilemma this year though (reasons I need TiVO #108). I live on the beach in Southern California and there is a cleanup that day. It starts at 9am (12pm EST for those of you following along at home). Same time as the draft. The most exciting stuff is the first 10 picks or so and I will definitly miss that if I go to the cleanup. I can cleanup the beach anytime on my own and often do, but I would like to spend some time socialising with other "concerned citizens" and get their thoughts on some things (another thread for another time...What is the rule of steel?!!?!?!?! sorry. . . I'm back). I would feel like a pile if I missed it since the meeting place for the cleanup is less than 50 yards from my house! Oh well - I will prolly miss the draft this year and get the recap, but I was wondering if anyone else watches this thing. Hence the poll. |

Clean your house while the draft is on and you won't feel so bad

Even without tivo, you gotta have a VCR. No gots? I would say go to the cleanup. It will be more exciting than the draft anyway. If you can't record it, go to ESPN and read all about it after the cleanup. By the way, way to go on the community volunteerism stuff. Very commendable.

I put myself down for "read later", but even that was generous. I'll take a quick scan to see what positions the Patriots picked up, but I don't know who any college players are, so it doesn't mean much to me.
And even if it did, who's to say they'll be on the team at the end of preseason? I don't care much until the season starts.

did not have my option up there, every year about half a dozen or so from work all take off early on Saturday and head to our local Hooters and watch the Draft in the company of beautiful half dressed gals feeding our faces
its our yearly tradition we have done this for probably the last 4 years now and each year its just a little something stupid to look forward to.

Last year when there was a strong sense that the Ravens would be players i watched the whole first round. This year they wont be picking until 51 and I doubt they will do any dealing so I will probably catch bits and pieces and then start paying attention when the Ravens get near.
PS Kyle Boller better knock my socks off this year.
