Claude Julien is a MORON
I need to rant here. Not only has Julien kept Perrault out of the lineup for 2 games, thus taking away one of Montreal's greatest asset to win all-important face-offs, but with 30 seconds left in the game, in the Montreal zone, Julien sends Dowd to take the faceoff???????
And what happened? They lost the faceoff and the Bruins scored and tied the game. Not to mention Rivet caused the face-off in the zone by icing the puck with the Bruins empty net. I don't care if Rivet is the "voice" of the Canadians locker room most of the time. He makes stupid rookie mistakes and this one tonight helped to cost Montreal. If they lose in overtime, words will not express how pissed off I will be. /end Rant. Last edited by Kaos; 04-13-2004 at 05:55 PM.. |

I dont know if you can blame this all on Julien though. I mean, this is the playoffs, Montreal should be playing for all they're worth. But it seems to me that every time they step out onto the ice this series, they forget they're there to paly hockey. I really hope they shape up... they're running out of time.

So this is a coaches fault, oh yeah and a player who won the face off, Montreal isn't playing playoff hockey plain and simple, it's not the coaches fault, it's the players, I mean Jesus who in their right mind leaves the puck sitting there in Double OT when you are the last man, and he was faking, you want to blame the loss on anyone look to Kovalev.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go against Kovalev on this one. I mean, Travis Greene can be a little puke at times, but that doesn't mean you stop to do a personal check-up when the puck is sitting right there behind you. Kovalev played great hockey last night, but you can't give up in the last couple of seconds.
That said, I still think the Canadiens have a chance to walk away with this one. They're a talented hockey club, who can play a great passing game. They've already shown they can't be bullied away from the puck by sheer size. They just need to stop making so many 'rookie' mistakes.

Now, I never commented on Kovalev. I can say that Kovalev messed up. Hurt or not, you don't stop playing until you hear the whistle. He screwed up in OT. But, this post was about Julien not having Perrault out there to take faceoffs. No one can argue that when you have the best faceoff man in the league, you don't keep him off the ice when the faceoff is as important as the one Boston scored the goal on. edited by the one with his head up his ass - sorry for my comment Last edited by Hanxter; 04-14-2004 at 07:15 AM.. |

Not starting anything, but who has their head up their ass? Yeah maybe Perrault should have been out there to take the faceoff, but you can't blame all their troubles on this 1 problem, the Canadians are playing like a team that doesn't want to bein the playoffs and I realize that you never mentioned Kovalev, but come on put the blame where it belongs and it doesn't belong on Julien,

The habs played a great hockey game last night. They play playoff hockey trust me. Raycroft is just outplaying Theodore big time and Boston stoled this one. We could talk hours about Kovalev, Julien's decision about the use of Perreault, Ribeiro "injury" in game 3 and so on. Let's wait for the outcome and let's cheer big time for the Canadiens. At least I will be!!

When you're in the playoffs and it's overtime and you get a slash of the hand and you've been in the league for at least ten years and you feel the need to embelish or whatever, you had better be sure your opponent isn't going to get a scoring chance! That may be the worst decision I've ever seen a player make... hard to believe! I may be wrong... but I believe that play just cost the Canadians their season.

You know, I just heard that, right after the game, Kovalev decided to show some real class and actually blamed Souray for the give away.
And there you have it. The Canadiens have just lost the first round, not because they can't beat the Bruins, but because, like always, they can't set aside their differences, and work as a team. edit: And too bad, because this is really going to affect my hockey pool. If the Canadiens go down tomorrow night, then Ribeiro and Souray had better both get 100 points by the end of the game.
