Will Lebron average 20 pts/game at season's end?
I have a bet with a buddy that Lebron won't be averaging 20 points per game by the end of the season. I don't think he has the ability to play an entire NBA season 80+ games at the level of play he's at right now. Any support?

I hope so. He has the body to do it. He's built better than 90% of the dudes in the NBA.
I've been watching him play for a few years now, and even I'm a little surprised at just how great he is doing. I expected him to average 16 points 5 boards and 5 assists a game, and win rookie of the year. He's ahead of my expectations, and he will be rookie of the year. |

I too think that King James will score 20 a game, if only because of the lack of talent surrounding him. Anytime the shot clock is winding down, they're going to be looking at him to take the shot.

James is getting something like the 6th most mins. in the league, plus with Davis gone there is more pressure on him to produce. I would not be surprised if James averages 20 a game.

Like most people have already said Lebron is going to get 20+ unless something truly ugly happens to him. I mean he is playing for the Cavs after all...

LeBron would score the same no matter what team he played on. You people just don't understand that he's better than 95% of the league. What team is sooo good that it would take the ball out of his hands? There isn't a single team in the East that he would lose shots on. |

Melo is a scorer, but he's also a soild rebounder, he can get to the free throw line and he can make assists when needed. If James wins rookie of the year I won't be mad or any crap like that, but I still think Melo could make a viable grab at the title if he stepped it up. Maybe it wouldn't be an open and shut case like I said in my first post, but it could happen.

Lebron could easily start on the lakers just interchange him and Kobe and Devean George at the 2 and 3, also you could always move him to point when Payton sits.

James might be a better player than Kobe later, but he isn't right now. For starters Kobe knows the triangle and James doesn't. Kobe is a captain after all, he's not going to be benched for a rookie. If we had a healthy starting five, i.e. Payton, Bryant, Fox, Malone and Shaq then James would always be coming off the bench.

Sorry, but I don't think 20 ppg is a realistic goal this year. Can you say supporting cast? As the season wears on, so will Lebron. Too much is expected of him and with little help, he'll run out of gas, THIS YEAR. Watch out though next year and beyond.

Well, well, well? Looks like we have someone else in here that kinda feels the way I do (yankeefatboy). This is the reason I made the bet in the first place. I'm not doubting the kid's talent (amazing playmaker), but his ability to carry throughout the season is my main question. Hmmmmm.

i think were going to see him fire up and amaze all the bitches who are doubting him...i mean i think he is a great ball player and has handled the nba great up until this point...i think we need to give him time...he is a more mature player than most of the veterans out there...do i think he'll average 20 or more points a game by the end? probably..maybe a lil less but..man thats still a 18 year old walking on all those veterans out there...anyways wanted to just pop in and leave a message...jeremy
