Probably waiting on the outcome of a physical, a trade to give them the money to sign him, or maybe both.

They are already about at what their payroll limit was supposed to have been, so I've heard they might trade Glaus (FA next year) and/or Washburn (too many starters) to free up cash.

Plus, they will have Garrett Anderson to resign next year, and might not have the money.

I don't like to see a player of Guerrero's caliber going to a market where I won't get the chance to see him play.

But personal feelings aside, if Guerrero feels this is the best move for him, then you won't hear me complaining. You should get a lifetime free pass from criticism if you excel in Montreal.

From a baseball perspective, it would have been nice to see him sign with the Orioles in their bid to keep the Red Sox and Yankees honest. But I can see the appeal of Anaheim to Guererro. Think about it - Latin communities, nice weather, the fans are appreciative that you have come to play for their team, and the expectations are tempered.

Where the hell did Anaheim come from? The only teams I heard reported in talks were Baltimore, NY Mets and Fla. I guess that goes to show you can just ignore the media.
I thought he was coming to the O's for sure. I guess thats whats up with Palmeiro and Surhoff .

That is a HUGE pickup for the angels... IF his back holds up... I really thought the O's would get him

Exactly what I was going to say. I thought Vlad was a near lock to end up in Baltimore. All I have heard was Baltimore and NY. Anaheim is definitely a curve ball. I think he'll mesh well there though.

Actually, early in the winter the reports were that, because of the Latino population of SoCal and the fact that their owner is Hispanic, the Angels could be a sleeper team.

Of course, they then signed Colon and Guillen, so no one expected this.

Well, it's been my dream to see the Mariners ever since Ken Griffey Jr in 89... now even though he's gone, it's gotta be fulfilled.

Cubbies... Vlad vs Sammy.. yeaaah

Sox... nothin's more fun that a team that can put the bat on the ball
