Fantasy basketball ?
 

My team is in first in my league and I'm dominating people. I just got offered Tim Duncan and Andre Miller for Baron Davis and Zydrunas Illgauskas.

Do I do it? It would be a HUGE addition to my center position (because Illgauskas is my starter) but I would be losing Baron Davis, the number one ranked player in the league.

Baron Davis stuffs the stat sheet. Andre Miller is weak by comparison. Your team seems overstocked with big men and short on point guards. Don't do it, IMHO.

If you're killing people why would you change your team. Once Arenas comes back you'll be fine at the point. Z is a solid center, and Miller isn't worth the trade. I wouldn't do it even if there was money involved.

Don't do it. Baron Davis is currently the #1 player overall (I'm playing in a Yahoo League). He gets you points, assists, a lot of rebounds for a guard, 3 pointers, steals and I believe his %s are good. Don't trade him.

Yeah his percentages are great, 39% from the field and 63% from the line.

The only reason they are even that high is because he takes like 20 shots a game. Once Mashburn comes back, his shots will go down.

I would trade him in an instant because he won't keep it up forever. Duncan is a proven player and I would do it anyday.

Well that says how much better he has gotten. Usually someone that takes so many shots a game tends to have lower fg %s (aside from down low players). I too would be interested to see how his percentages are affected once mashburn comes back. My prediction is not much. Mashburn is a good player, but I don't think the Hornet's coach (is it still Silas?!) would take away minutes and shots from Davis.

Those aren't great percentages....
I don't see how Baron could possibly be ranked ahead of Garnett, and he aslo has KG.

KG shoots 49% from the field and 75% from the line. Not to mention nearly 25 points, 14 boards, 5 assists, almost 2 steals, and nealy 3 blocks a game..... KG is the best player in the league. I would almost be willing to bet $500 that Baron doesn't keep his averages where they're at.

Plus Baron turns the ball over too much to be the #1 player, and quite honestly his stats are barely better than Marbury's.

[edit]LeBron James had better field goal and free throw percentages than Baron.....

I know Baron Davis won't keep his averages the way they are, but as the star on that team he will have assists, attempted shots (bound to make some), steals, and threes throughout the season. I ended up writing back to the trade, rejecting it and saying that Duncan is not as much better as Ilgauskas to equal out how much better Davis is than Miller. Hopefully he gets risky and offers something really good to me insted.
We'll see. I'm killing people and have Arenas and Amare Stoudemire on the IL, I just always want to make my team better.

On another note, what are some guesses as to who's going to start lighting it up and who's good now that's going to slow down a lot. Any little known waiver players?

I think Mike James (Boston) is going to slow way down...it's starting to happen already.

You honestly think they'll let Davis take around 10 3's a game when Mashburn comes back?

Last year he took around 6 and hit about 33% of them.

Waiver wire people to get would be:

Voshon Lenard, Dwyane Wade and Brian Cardinal.

Those people should be availible, but if the league you are in is somewhat intelligent, those players will be gone.

Now....do I do it? Finley can make up for some of the threes...I still have Marion, Damon Stoudemire and will have Gilbert Arenas when he's back.

I would do it because chances are Davis won't stay this hot and Z might get injured (again). Duncan has shown consistency and Finley is a pure scorer. Of course being on the Mavs doesn't help him out, but he's bound to get his points.

Rest what case?! Baron has played 2 more games than KG, and that's the only reason he's scored more points. Baron has had more games scheduled at this point of the season.... KG averages 1 more point and 10 rebounds more. His shooting percentages are waaay better. Baron only averages 3 more assists than KG, and Baron is a point guard. You don't even have a case to open... Baron is third in assists per game average behing Kidd and Marbury. Marbury has the most total assists so get your facts straight before you play this game. Iverson has the best average per game for steals... Not Baron. KG is twice the player that Baron could ever dream of being.

For the record I picked up Voshon and Dwayne a long time ago!

On the second trade offer.... I still wouldn't do it. Finley hasn't played great at all this year. Plus, he's injured. This trade offer is worse than the last. Z didn't get hurt last year, and he won't this year either. Don't forget that Arenas is hurt right now, which only leaves you with only James and Stoudemire at the point..... Not very reliable players.

Actually Lebron has been heating up as of late. 3 30 pointers in his last 5 games.

And Mighty Mouse has been doing pretty well also.

I think you're ok if you dish Davis, I would go for a Kidd or something though.

Davis for Kidd or something of that calibur.
