Eric Karros = Class Act
He ran a full page ad in the sports section of today's Chicago Tribune, shows a picture of him with the following text "Thank you to the Chicago Cubs fans and the entire Cubs organization for your support. You have all provided my family and me with an unbeatable experience and memories to last a lifetime. Warmest Regards, Eric Karros"
Thank you Eric Karros. |
Just remember, you got him from US. Now you see why LA loves him so much.

That is a class move!

I saw something about this elsewhere - it demonstrates that even with the inflated salaries and inflated egos - some guys still get it. |
That's a classy gesture. I only wish he would have added at the end: P.S. Leave Steve Bartman alone.

wow I didn't hear about that story that is great and heart warming to give back like that especially after such a crazy series with Florida!!
|
Cubs placed him on waivers today! SO much for support from the club! Never have been a big fan cuz he clobbered my pet rocks every time he came to Denver. But he deserved better than this.
|
He wasen't placed on waivers. They declined him his option for $9.2 million. He filed for free agency.
Good idea anyway. hitting .286 with 12 homers and 40 RBI's for 9 million? No thanks. Patterson will be back, therefore no more Lofton, and Hee Seop Choi, which was having a pretty nice rookie season till the collision with Wood, and a concussion took him out of the lineup, will be back. Now they just need to sign Milwood and Javy Lopez, and life will be good. |

class act or attention whore? you make the call |
Lopez is the best available catcher. He's consistent, catches the majority of games, and is a much, much better bat then Bako and Miller. And who says he won't produce?
I just read today, Gonzalez/Choi(if Karros re-signs for less money, which is a possibility, apparently) and Farnsworth are said to possibly be on the block. Tajada is quite possibly another they will chase. The big focus for them is middle relief. Personally, I'd like to see Millwood signed (or Colon, I just think Millwood being in the NL could be better), Clement moved to middle relief. Lopez signed. Jim Miller gone. A lefty added to the starting pitching.. Tajada would be an awsome pickup, Gonzalez and Choi traded for some more middle relief. If they can't sign a lefty, farnsworth stays, millwood is added to the starting 5. |
