Praise for Eric Gagne

Ok. Gagne is THE MAN. He has 4 awesome pitches that nobody can hit. He now has 2 saves records: Most consecutive saves and most consecutive saves to start a season. He is on pace to break Billy Wagner's K per 9 innings record.

Ever since he's been given his closer role, he has just been a monster. The key is the mentality. When he was a starter, he had to pace himself and he never had any momentum to start the game. It's clear he is a very emotional pitcher and so he thrives at the center of the game's climax. I've been to a few Dodger games when he comes in, and this guy is celebrated more than anyone I can remember.

Go Eric Gagne.

yeah, he was put in as a regular reliever in a meaningless game.. like I said.. he's an emotional player. He works best when it really matters.

He should be the Cy Young winner this year and is having the most dominant season for a closer since Dennis Eckersley---with all that said, just imagine what he could be doing with a team who could score more than 3 runs a game!

He is amazing.

John Smoltz would have broken the record had he not been hurt, but Gagne is still a great closer.

I heard a stat today that is amazing. There have been over 500 blown saves in Major League Baseball since Gagne last blew a save over a year ago!!!

Dodgers have lost just 1 game in this season when they have leading by 8th inning.

That is because Gagne.

Whoa, whoa, Rivera isn't Benitez. Rivera is just coming back from injury and is having a hard time getting back into better-than-Gagne form.

Benitez is a choker, like I'm drowning in 100 feet of water choking. Guarenteed if anything is on the line Benitez will throw up a nice pitch right over the middle or whereever that particular batter likes it and it will be clobbered to Canada.

Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Scotsman fished the fly out of his beer and continued drinking it, as if nothing had happened. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!"

Rivera's past his prime, I'm not saying he's going to suck, but it seems like he's gotten worse as the years go on.

...which is why Gagne will be closing for the Yankees within a few years.

Enjoy him while you can!

Not many closers stay on top of their game for very long. With Rivera's heat and relatively small size, it was only a matter of time before he started to break down. I hope he's not on his way out, but he's certainly not as automatic as he used to be.

Gagne says he credits his emonational nature to his hockey playing days as a youngster in Canada.
So blame Canada if you don't like him.

Yeah, those injuries have screwed him over a lot.

He used to be able to go 2 innings, but they don't risk that anymore.

4 great pitches. but i think they got better once he was a closer.
