Clarett done for the season???
ESPN is reporting that Clarett is likely done for the season!

Thank the football gods. Now we can concentrate on more important things, like Kobe's trial ;)
But seriously, he'd be better off going to Canada for two years then coming back when the NFL allows it. |
What a shame that this guy couldn't stay out of trouble for 3 years. All he had to do was go to class once in a while and not get arrested!! I went to college, it's not that difficult to do.
Anyway, I think the Buckeyes will be just fine without him. Now that they know he's not coming back this year, they can concentrate on defending the title. |
I hope he doesn't decide to challenge the NFL rules. The last thing college football fans need is a star player skipping college and going pro!

I think Lydell Ross is really going to have a breakthough season, and now with the bucks passing game, other teams are not going to be able to crowd the box to stop the run. MC is a great player and I wish he was still on the team, but Ohio state has a reputation to uphold, they are not a florida team. I would like to see just a 5 game suspension, which may still be an option, Andy The OSU athletic director, seemed to think it could have been over back in july, so maybe if MC gets his shit together and starts telling the truth he can get back to practicing with the team. I guess we will see sometime this week.
GO BUCKS!! |
I'm pretty sure he's done. Yesterday I heard he mislead OSU on the insurance fraud while they were going to bat for him with the NCAA. This is a bad thing! OSU, if they don't throw him off the team could face probation! Tressel can still put a good enough team on the field without this idiot....Send him packin!
GO BLUE! |
It doesn't look good for Clarett playing at all this year.
But: You can't drive a 2001 Monte Carlo "on loan" from an area car dealership and still be an amateur. You can't repeatedly lie to NCAA investigators. You can't just get up and walk out of midterms and be a student-athlete. In his defense: Michigan's star player assaulted some poor fuck and got a one-game suspension. So, yes, the system has holes. But Maurice Clarett thumbed his nose at the system the whole offseason. The sad thing is he sees himself as the victim. All I know is that there are alot of other guys on the Buckeye's team that did not drive luxury automobiles "on loan", worked hard in the classroom, and abided by the rules. These guys probably don't want much to do with a guy that felt he was above the rules. And rightfully so. |
The good news was the "poor fuck" was a Michigan football fan!

We don't need any asshats like that at ANY institution of higher learning. I hope he decides to go north for a year or two. The Bucks will be just fine without him. He's needed, but needed to make distractions. If he's lied like it sounds, he's gone for this year, then hopefully next year. What a waste.

I'm glad the NFL has more scruples than the NBA in not letting fetuses enroll for the draft. I predict Clarett will make the same wonderful contributions to the NFL(when he gets there) like fellow troubled stars Lawrence Philips and Cecil Collins.
|
Oh well. He's only one man and that doesn't make a team. OSU is still going to be good without him
