The TFP CFB Sports Contest
Directions: Make ten picks from the games below. Links are provided to help you, if you like. Don't forget to pick the tiebreak. All entries must be recorded by noon EST on Saturday. The prize is being hailed as a genius in this space - winner will be posted by Monday evening. Good Luck!
For the record, the second full week of the college football season is usually on of the worst. This is because league play hasn't really started yet, and the big boys won't play each other. Even the little boys don't play each other, instead playing some of the bigger schools for some extra revenue. So I did my best to find games that should be close - next week should provide better matchups. . AND... the winner is... crazybill5280 All Hail crazybill5280, the winner extraordinarre. If Oklahoma holds on to win, he will have selected an amazing nine out of ten correctly. (Even if the Sooners lose, everyone picked 'em, so the standings will remain the same.) TheDude earns the bridesmaid award, only one correct pick behind. Congrats to crazybill5280!! 1. Not everyone would be able to join, there is limited space, and you need a yahoo ID. 2. It requires a commitment from people. Alot of people don't like to sign up if they think they may forget from one week to the next. 3. This is much faster for people - you just make ten picks - then stop back Monday and see who won. It's supposed to be quick and fun. 4. This contest is open to everyone at TFP. I don't post the scores of those who lose. Where as, if you are in Yahoo pick'em, and go 4-10, everyone knows it. I keep those tidbits to myself. This way, people at TFP who don't normally follow sports can participate just to have fun. (This is also why I post the links at ESPN). 5. I was in a Pick'em contest with another board - but everyone had different screen names, so you didn't know who was who. Hope that made sense, The Dude. Oh, and if someone accidently skips the pick, they forfeit the pick (just in case someone was wondering). |
