I think Carolina could have a real shot if they had a QB. I really thought Griese would go there. They made some good off-season moves, and their defense is solid, but they won't win with Peete taking snaps.

I'd vote, but I agree equally with Dallas and Arizona.
Carolina will be fine as long as Weinke (originally wrote Rix...I hate FSU ) is their 3rd-string. Houston has a good quarterback in Carr, but he has nothing around him in the form of O-line, recievers, tailbacks, etc. Cincinnati has TWO decent quarterbacks, as Kitna is good enough for them right now and Palmer will be great in the future. But in Dallas, Hutchinson needs to go back to baseball and Carter needs to go back to McDonalds. And in Arizona Jeff Blake will be their starter: worst Raven QB since Tony Banks, and that INCLUDES Elvis the Broken Pelvis.

dallas. simple.
they have a decent group of wr's and te's that can catch the ball, but there is nobody to throw from. people blame the offensive line for the lack of time for throws, but i think the existing qb's just suck. dallas should've drafted a qb in the draft. as for houston, they have a pretty good qb in carr. their offensive line needs to step up protection as carr is a good qb.

I'm thinking that Parcells will be shopping for a QB as soon as they get back to Dallas.
What's sad is that Woody Dantzler (Dallas) and Josh Scobey (Arizona) were both somewhat successful college QBs and are now listed as RBs, even though they may be the best QBs on their respective teams. IMHO Quincy Carter needs to be converted to WR and Hutchinson just needs to be released. |

Arizona just doesn't count. They can't benifit from anything because their ownership is just complete and utter CRAP (and no, that still isn't emphasized enough).
Carolina needs to sit back and let Jake Delhomme develop, they have all the other pieces in place. (Especially at running back, letting Davis go was the biggest mistake the Redskins have made in a long time). Cincy is fine, Kitna and Palmer is any smart coaches dream. Houston has Carr, who is IMO better than Palmer in almost every aspect. Then again, I hate most Heisman winners that got it over more deserving players (COUGH Leftwich COUGH, christ, he had to call the best play and the best protection against the defense on his own AT THE LINE COUGH). Which leaves Dallas. Hutchinson is a career number 2 at best. Carter needs about 3-4 more years of development to be effective. Dantzler is probably the best choice for the Cowboys right now, but he is the exact opposite of the Parcells ideal QB (Tall, immoble, strong, and accurate). Dallas, hands down.

Yeah I don't even think this should be a contest, Dallas wins this hands down. As a Dallas fan, I couldn't believe the Cowboys didn't at least pick up a QB in the draft, or even in free agency. I mean, anybody with experience to help these fool qb's they have now develop. Dammit, if only Troy Aikman hadn't quit.

The Ravens should have been on that list as well. Maybe Boller will pan out in a few years.
Never should have let Dilfer go.

Carolina aquired Jake Delhomme in the offseason from the Saints. He has been around a few years and has performed well in very limited spot duty during the regular season, and has been excellent in the past few preseasons. He might need some time to become familiar with the system in Carolina though. With solid play from the QB position, Carolina would be a pretty good team.
Cincinatti and Houston both have young guys who need to be given a chance. At least, David Carr has proven he has the toughness to play in the league. Dallas and Arizona are in such sad shape due to management that they deserve to get beat soundly. As ReggErving suggested, the Bears should really be on that list. They have a solid defense and good receivers (and a once successful running back), but I will be shocked if Kordell has much success in their offense. |

As for Boller, he may start a couple games late in the year if he shows improvement AND if Redman struggles, but Billick is smart enough to know that raw skills only get you nowhere in the NFL.
