surfing and wearing glasses
so anyone here wear glasses and also surf.
i'm finally learning to surf. (after living a mile from the beach all my life) the problem is that i wear glasses. i simply cannot wear contacts... the problem is that it takes me over an hour every time to get them in my eyes. so does anyone surf and just wear glasses with a strap or are their special glasses/goggles that can be fitted with prescription lenses that you would recommend? thanks

Hi. I've been bodyboarding with contacts for a while now. For me, I've never really had a problem getting them in. It does take a few days to get used to it, but if you keep at it, in a short while you'll be able to put them on in less than 30 seconds.
As for the goggles, I imagine you can get the prescription style athletic goggles that some pro athletes wear (Eric Gagne of the Dodgers for example) Check with your optomotrist. Only problem is that you'll probably look a little goofy surfing with those types of goggles. good luck. |
