NHL Team Logos - Past and Present
I found an intersting web site while surfing that has all the NHL team logos, both past and present. I thought I'd post it here so others could appreciate it as well.

Also check out thesle.com (vector sports logos) and chriscreamer.com (sports uniforms/logos).
thanx that was realy interesting
Sabres and Canucks need to switch back. By far the worst logos in all of sports history.
Actually, a friend and I were looking through the list, and my friend noticed that one of the Vancouver Canuck logos was missing.
His name is Johnny Canuck, and he was their logo from 1952-1970. This was prior to when the Canucks entered into the NHL, which is most likely why he wasn't added to the list of logos. Still like the "C-killer whale" better. |

when we switched to the killer whale,i always hoped they would go back to him. the rink with a stick in the middle was cool too. |
I loved the Canucks previous logo with the skate, even the colours were sharp.
My all time fav was the Whalers. |
Yah , the whalers had a killer logo ..plus being from Ct , I was able to go to all the games !
Thanks, was looking for the Nordiques logo a while back. Got it now. Didn't realize how many ex-NHL teams there were.
I'll always love my Flyers flying "P".
Hee hee... the New York Fishsticks...

now that i think of it, its sad to see 6 canadian teams, while there are flourishing hockey teams in phoenix, dallas, atlanta, san jose, anaheim, la, carolina, etc. when was the last time it even snowed down there! if it weren't for artificial ice, the nhl would be almost completly canadian. dammit! oh how i miss my jets.
always thought the isles had something else going... ironic...

any idea why the oilers new jersey isn't shown there? i admit it looks weird, but it has story behind it and if you know it, the symbol looks damn good
I kinda like that new Oilers jersey. It's a little similar to the Gretzky-era Kings, and the armor-plated sperm is cool.

Had to laugh at the "Philadelphia Quakers". Now that must have been a team to fear!!!
Colorado's Jersey owns.... except for their new "Alternate" one.
Long Live the Whalers!!!
ever see an Avalanche jersey???
they have 2 left feet as shoulder patches - why is that??? |
I loved the Whalers old logo as well.... and I miss seeing the Binghampton Whalers as a kid. I hate the f#@king Rangers.
I am a fan of the simple ones...... give me the Leafs and the Redwings logo's anyday.
Boston Bruins
I'm a HUGE canucks fan and the whale is definitly the worst logo we've had.. well actually prob. second worst jersey to the bright yellow and orange one. Oh 'Fear the whale' as many a sign has said at GM place.

I'm so glad that the Penguins went back to their older logo - it's so much better! Thanks for the site, it makes for a really interesting view.
Sabres went back for 1 game, but they need to go back perminatly
I love the Nordiques uni's, with that nice fleur de lis :D
excellent site, i really appreciated it, I've actually been looking (not hard, mind you! :)) for a site like that for a while.
Boston is missing the Bear's Head logo on that website, although I wish I could forget that awful jersey :(
What's with the Toronto Arenas. That has to be the most pathetic team name I've ever heard. It doesn't seem to really present any type of symbolism. It surely isn't intimidating and it isn't like nordiques or canucks where it is describing the region.
satan and the Sabers need to change back no doubt about it.
Love the old logo, still buy shirts where ever i can with it on it. /just likes to write satan |
