Lakers will....Rape you?
EAGLE, Colo. -- Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant has been charged with one count of felony sexual assault, Eagle County prosecutor Mark Hurlbert announced today after two weeks of deliberation.
Bryant will face four years to life in prison, if convicted. Bryant's Denver-based attorney, Pamela Mackey, has scheduled a news conference at 9 p.m. ET time tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but there is no word whether Bryant will be there. Mackey also released a statement on Bryant's behalf shortly after the announcement. "I am innocent of the charges filed today. I did not assault the woman who is accusing me," Bryant said in the statement. "I made the mistake of adultery. I have to answer to my wife and my God for my actions that night and I pray that both will forgive me. ... Nothing that happened June 30th was against the will of the woman who now falsely accuses me." Bryant, 24, turned himself in to authorities July 4 and was released on $25,000 bond. The woman claims he attacked her at the Lodge & Spa at Cordillera in nearby Edwards on June 30. His attorney has said the five-time NBA All-Star is innocent and was in Colorado for knee surgery at a Vail clinic. In a brief interview with the Los Angeles Times last week, Bryant said he "would never do something like that.'' Bryant attended the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, but avoided the media in his first public appearance since his arrest. He sat in the audience smiling and laughing with his wife, Vanessa. |

I believe if the Lakers want to win Championships with an adulterer/RAPIST, then they can do so without any integrity. Kobe is just like all the other players in the NBA, just trade him to the Trail Blazers, and he would fit right in with all the other criminals. |

All I'll say is that I lost all respect for Kobe. I fucking hate when people cheat on the person they are married with. He's a low life fucking dumbass pile of shit. Fuck him! I hope his wife takes him for everything he's worth. If she doesn't then I think she's a stupid cunt and I hope he continues to cheat on the dumb bitch.
Now that I have that out of the way, I would like to think that this is just a case of Kobe fucking some chic and she wants a ton of cash. I doubt that he raped this broad. I guess we'll find out the truth soon enough. I can honestly say that I'm ashamed to be a Lakers fan right now. |

Bottom line: Kobe is innocent so far. How much do you know? Nothing. How much does ESPN, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. know? Nothing. So what does that make all assumptions? It turns them into bullshit. |

I don't think he deserves a life sentence at all. I've got a feeling this girls just a money-grubbing bitch who saw her chance to make some money. Why would Kobe Bryant need to assault her anyway? He could get so many other girls.

Personally I found this entire ordeal suspicious right now.
They issued an arrest warrant very fast to begin with. It almost seems as though they have a goddamn BIAS against him. The way he talks and IIRC he had a quote somehwere saying "they would do whatever to charge him" or something to that effect really made me question if the DA / prosecutors have any biases. Right now the evidence isn't exactly what I'd say is great to charge. They have the DNA resutls but when Kobe came out and said he did commit adultery but didn't force it (there was consent and all) then that would've killed the DNA evidence - so what DO the prosecutors have left other than some 19 year old's word? Suspicious is all i can say. |

How do you people know that he didn't rape this woman. Image is shit. Everyone thought Kirby Puckett was a great guy. After he retired, it turend out he was a complete asshat. To say he did or didn't rape anyone at this point is ludicrous. Until the evidence becomes public, I will reserve judgement of innocence or guilt.

Well theres more to medical evidence than just DNA (ie bruises in specific locations, etc..). so well have to wait and see what else theyve got. i also heard something about drugs being involved. who knows. its gonna be an interesting trial. either way, IMO, he should go to jail for a while just for cheating on his wife.

Well, there is some stories around about this woman now.
She basically is a drug addict, who overdosed when she started having some issues in life. She kept it a complete secret, but now it's out. Her friends say she is going through a "rough" time, before the Kobe incident, and that she could have possibly been "over-reactive". Personally, I think shes full of shit, however it doesn't change the fact Kobe banged this chick, and cheated on his wife. I bet this never even goes to trial. Her credibility is going further and further down the drain. |
