American Rugby?
I'm not sure if this thread is in the right spot. Moderators, feel free to move this...
I was watching Jackass just now... And it seems like Johnny has gotten himself into a match with a team of REAL Rugby players. Watching him get pounded by nearly everyone on the opposing side has made me realize that Rugby looks like American Football and Greco/Roman Wrestling put together. Being a lover and participant in both of those sports, is there anywhere in America where a rugby league is set up? |

i play rugby in a mens's semi-professional league. there are 15's and 7's and our 7's team actually competes professionally. either way...there is a professional league called super-league and it is comprised of the best teams in each region of the country. these teams usually recruit out of country, but a good number of players also come from men's league semi-pro teams. the bottome line, is that is a relatively unorganized mess that changes every season with teams regularly coming and going. the sport doesnt have the backing of the major networks because of its relative lack of popularity and therefore doesnt have the money to go mainstream in the states. i dont foresee it in the near future either. for more info check out the MARFU home page. i would link it, but i am lazy.
