I should say that when I say football I mean "soccer" to American people.
And yeah, obviously dont count little knocks and so on. I mean, its rare to come out of a game without a bruise or a sore muscle or a cut or graze or something. I only counted the things I had to have outside medical treatment for or kept me out of action for ages (each time I did my hamstring was out for three months - and the third time I did it about 3 mins into a game...) And Ive played badminton pretty much every week for the last 3 or 4 years and never so much as pulled a muscle - I guess that thats the sport I should stick too!

Some of mine a little wierd:
broken wrist - tripped in a 1600M start sprained ankle w/ connective tissue tears - literally the next to last step of the last race of XC season (stepped on someone's foot and rolled it to the ground) dislocated thumb - playing "keep the balloon in the air" with my brother sciatica - running plantars facitis - running IT band irritation - running and notable because it was by far more painful than all the other combined but did no damage at all. Just hurt like a motherfucker whenever I'd run more than 2 miles. That, more than anything, contributed to my outright hatred of any swimming pool-based workout. On of my best friends, who was an 800/1500M guy with me in college, broke his arm when he decided to try high jumping for the first time on a wet day during warmups.

I've had tons of knocks, but have always avoided the sidelining injury..
didn't matter if it was football, american football, basketball, baseball I just had a way of staying fit enough to play. Quote:

I was pretty lucky that I never got seriously hurt playing sports. Mostly some floor burns playing basketball and indoor soccer, a couple jammed fingers.
The worst in my memory was getting hit in the side with a baseball while standing on second base on a pickoff attempt. I thought I had ruptured an organ, it hurt so badly.

Currently sidelined due to hip and knee injuries and will miss my half-marathon next weekend.
Hurt my shoulder when I was a teenager - it's never been 100% since. If I make too many throws from 3rd to 1st or do too much shoulder work in the gym, it acts up again.

Torn calf muscle at soccer training. Grade 1 tear and only out for a few weeks, but gee it hurt.
Dislocated AC joint (playing soccer the day after my bucks party). My wife to be (and now ex-wife) was extremely pissed off . This still is painful if I throw anything too much - was a PITA playing baseball. Broken finger - playing backyard cricket with my brothers - dived to take a catch and got the ball right on the end of my finger

My love of basketball gave me permanent patellar tendonitis and too many dislocated fingers to remember.
Sadly, the knee injury has made it almost impossible for me to play anymore.

I have to say that breaking someone's leg was my worst moment. It was a bad challenge.
I also cracked a guys ribs playing cricket with a short ball which for a few seconds was pure terror cos he went straight over and I thought his heart stopped or something.

Had to stop playing football (soccer) due to 2 ingrown toenails on my big toes of both feet. Much better quality of life since i stopped giving impact (from both the running and ball impact) on my big toes).
Dislocated a mate's shoulder (basketball) I blocked him. He fell off balance and hit the kerb at a bad angle with his shoulder.

I blew my knee out playing football, and also tore some cartilage in both of my shoulders. Other than that, I just have a few scars from cuts and scrapes. So far I haven't had any serious injuries while practicing martial arts, but I figure it's only a matter of time.
