Yeah but atleast (except game 7) the series lived up to the Crosby vs Ovechkin hype.

I was kind of shocked to see that it would be the first Cup rematch in 25 years.

I hope its gonna be another Detroit-Pittsburgh rematch but I hope that Pittsburgh comes out on top this time. If that series does happen, Pittsburgh is going to have a tough match because Detroit has so much depth.

I think Detroit has improved alot over last year, but I think that since Malkin has developed more as a player, it might provide a sizable challenge for Detroit.

I'm curious and annoyed that it seems every time someone hammers another player with a clean hit, he get's 5 and a game like Kronwall got when he drilled Havlat.

Perfectly clean hit, yet the league says Havlat was in a 'vulnerable situation' and that's why Kronwall got tossed with 17 minutes in penalties for good measures. Why the fuck don't we just turn it into a European League and just take hitting out of the game? That's what that cocksucker Bettman is doing anyways, trying to 'pussify' the league.

Now lets see who put Havlat in this 'vulnerable situation', I blame the defenceman who gave him the suicide pass, they teach you as kids not to give suicide passes to your players, so the d-man should have been smarter with his pass. Also Havlat gets some of the blame, he's the dumb bastard looking behind him for a pass, did he forget it was body contact hockey for a bit?

Kronwall was just doing his job, as a former defenceman I would have been drooling had I seen Havlat looking back like that. I remember when I started playing hockey and they used to teach you to hit to hurt because the guy hitting you isn't going to hold back, now it seems they hit to hug and they expect the same treatment back.

Let's hope the NHL gets some balls back, but I'm not holding my breath, I reckon they'll be wearing skirts and carrying purses for many years to come.

Agreed. I'll follow, but as I said before, I'm mildly uninterested, but I'll chalk another one up for the Wings.

I've taken to not watching much anymore either guccilvr, it really is ruining the game, almost turning it into a basketball on ice with the way hitting and contact in general is so taboo.

Back in the day you used to be able to get a guys number who gave you a cheap shot and get him back with a good solid hit, nowadays I wouldn't recommend doing that.

The other things I don't get is this tossing the head back when a stick or a body part comes near your face, jesus the way they're doing it this year it's like a big ass fan is pushing their heads backwards.

Then there's the hooking penalties for lifting a guys stick, now how the hell are you supposed to get the puck away from the guy if you can't lift his stick? When I played defense that was a huge part of it, now you lift the guys stick when he has the puck and you're looking at 2 for hooking.

Also slashing calls just because those piece of shit composite sticks break like twigs, I've seen one break from a one handed tap and the poor guy got a slashing call.

Jesus the NHL sure has to get it's shit together, and I really have to stop ranting about how shitty this 'new NHL' is, give me the old NHL any day against this pussy watered down league. That's another thing, the watered down talent in the league, but I'll save that for another day.

Players with Malkin, Crosby, Ovechkin(remember that knee on Gonchar) for last names will never, ever, ever be suspended in the new NHL, they're the golden boys, they could 3 way Bettman's wife and he wouldn't give a fuck.

Helping a teammate third man in or helping a teammate in the usual situation? I haven't been bothered to watch the series so not too sure what happened, I'll check for a youtube video.

So yeah he should but because of the out-clause he wont.

I like the pens and I'd like them to win, I just don't think it's going to happen. I'm thinking (if I'm being honest with myself) this will go the way game 5 did, possibly with a consolation goal or two late in the 2nd/3rd for Pit.

Pit doesn't fare well in Joe Louis Arena. I've only seen game 6 and that was just a shitty performance by the wings.. I don't think it's possible for them to have 2 in a row like that.

Look for the wings to win 3-1.

GO WINGS GO! Fuck I'm pumped. 2 1/2 hours to game time and I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a game (probably Canada/US gold medal game in the '02 Olympics). I'm just glad my boss let me take a vacation day (I'm a well known Wings fan at work) so I could watch the game.

You missed a good game though and what a fucking save by Fleury at the end of the game to rob my Wings from going to OT.

How 'bout that save. Fuck all the other 'save of the playoffs' the announcers kept trying to call. Fleury gets that award right there.

PS: I love that the Pens call him 'flower'. Cracks me up every time.
