Opinions on Speedos...
I've been swimming my whole life, and have always worn regular swimming trunks (not board shorts, the kind with the built-in underwear). I tried a pair of board shorts once, and will never do that again. Anyway, I picked up a pair of speedos briefs about a week ago, and have worn them a couple of times for lap swimming. They were absolutely great! I think that I have the body for them, too, but I was wondering what others thought. I'm 6 foot 1, and weigh about 155. I'm a classic ectomorph (thin, not incredibly muscular). I do have the top two of my six pack in place, and am working on the bottom four. Any thoughts?

If you're wearing them to go lap swimming, that's fine. I wouldn't necessarily recommend wearing a Speedo to the beach, but a lap pool is perfectly acceptable. What are you worried about?

yeah, if you don't have a "muffin top" hanging over the suit, then go with it. As OSO said, probably not beach wear.

Speedos are better left for lap pool. |
Yeah, I don't have a muffin top. I also was only really planning on using them at the lap pool.

ive lived a large chunk of my life in or around the water, either at the pool or the beach. i also double as a swimming coach in my spare time, so ive been exposed to speedos my whole life.
i also used to do swimming squad training 5-6 times a week and basically lived in speedos. nowadays i wear the speedo shorts and not the budgie-smugglers as i call them, but moreso when im training. when im just lazing by the pool im wearing speedos with board shorts on top. i have no problem with people walking around in speedos eitehr at the pool or at the beach. maybe your self concious about something?? |

pool... o'kay
on the beach... not a good idea given the alternative... speedo on the beach... not such a bad idea |
It's an American thing. We are averse to speedos while the whole world embraces them.

As has been said, laps are fine. The beach, not so much. I personally like the idea of a speedo under boardshorts, and I've done it several times to much success.
I always thought that an ectomorph was a ghost, like Slimer on Ghostbusters. |

To my eyes, they are just not right. There is a guy that wears one where I go windsurfing. That and his moustache. |

nowadays everyone is rockin the jammers anyway, which don't bother me at all. even with a full belief that you are free to wear what you want, speedo briefs still give me a bit of a cringe sometimes.

Yeah, Speedo makes more than just briefs. I personally wear these shorts. I like them because they're not loose (which would be quite annoying for swimming), and since they're not briefs they don't give you a massive bulge, heh.

I don't have a problem with moustaches per se. I just find this guy's moustache rather comical.
