Fantasy Football 2K8

Yahoo opened up leagues already, I made the Tilted Time league again.

Good league last year, would like all the usuals in it again if possible. PM me for information. If no one wants in again will open the registration information to all.

No word from anyone but Donuts who is having trouble logging in, no one else made their information public to the league last year so I cannot use the tool to invite people from last season, so here goes the information. League size it set to 9 to allow me to hold a spot for Donuts since he has expressed interest, once he is ready I will bump it back up to the 10 so he can get in. In order to do that it has to be changed to points only, it will go back to a head to head league with 10.

LEAGUE IS FULL IF ANYONE ELSE WANTS IN FEEL FREE TO LEAVE ME A PM AND IF SOMEONE DROPS BEFORE THE DRAFT I WILL INVITE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE

Mister Coaster 06-17-2008 12:48 PM

Sweet, I'm in! Looks like Donuts has successfully signed up as well. Second place was good, but I'm looking to improve.

MontanaXVI 06-18-2008 02:39 PM

Nice to have you guys back, I know it is really early but no interest it seems this year.

Information is above for all to join.

Good Luck

Mister Coaster 06-18-2008 03:56 PM

It is early. I'm sure we'll get filled up.

grumpyolddude 06-18-2008 06:50 PM

Any room for the defending champ?

pan6467 06-19-2008 01:06 AM

I'll be in

MontanaXVI 06-20-2008 09:25 AM

4 in

room for 6 more first come first served. Also just an fyi in your profile or maybe team options you can choose to hide your e-mail, if you do this then next year if someone starts the league they are not able to send an invite to you if you wanted in it again without hunting you down on here or posting.

That is what I did, tried to send invites to everyone who was in the league last season and only 2 people had theirs viewable so I could only send out two invites with the league tools.

grumpyolddude 06-20-2008 12:30 PM

My problem was a change of email. There's a thread in Tilted Tech about my woes (sniff). I'll try to remain available this time 'round.

crewsor 06-28-2008 12:41 PM

I'm in. "SCREAMING EAGLES" as always. Looking forward to a great season.

Glad to see we lost the Q.B. point per completion. That should fix the overweighted QB stats.

djtestudo 06-28-2008 03:54 PM

Raveners in the lizz-eague.

(Yes, I am a caucasian. How could you know?)

MiSo 06-28-2008 10:47 PM

the PainTrain is coming thru town once again!

I agree, that was an oversight on my part last season. I wanted PPR and ended up putting a PPC(ompletion) on it too.

MiSo 07-01-2008 09:09 PM

it's good to see most of us in the league again.
i look forward to a good season.

thespian86 07-11-2008 12:59 PM

I'm really interested, I've always wanted to do it, but I'm not sure how fantasy leagues work.

Just sign up. Its mostly luck. You just draft your players and hope for best. It doesn't require a ton of effort. Just enough time to keep track of injured players so you have a complete lineup each week. Its not rocket science, I'm sure you can handle it.

grumpyolddude 07-13-2008 10:06 AM

Yep, you just put your best players in the line up and hope for the other guys QB to have a down week. Worked well for me last season!

thespian86 07-13-2008 02:38 PM

Deal. I'm in.

indebut 07-13-2008 05:46 PM

I am in again this year. Hopefully I can improve upon my 5th place finish last season

reconmike 07-13-2008 06:47 PM

I am in again also, going to attempt to improve on my dismall showing of last year.

grumpyolddude 07-24-2008 08:01 PM

Training camp opened today. The Lions will still suck, but Williams and Johnson may take turns having decent games.

Time to start paying attention!

Mister Coaster 08-13-2008 09:45 AM

***Bump***

Draft is this Sunday, don't forget to be there or set up your preferences!

grumpyolddude 08-17-2008 08:58 AM

2-1/2 hours 'til draft time.... and I haven't got a clue.
Situation normal.

Mister Coaster 08-17-2008 12:37 PM

Yeah, I didn't do my homework this year. I was kind of winging it. Oh well...

djtestudo 08-17-2008 06:42 PM

You know what's great?

When you completely forget you have a draft, and have to work so it really doesn't matter anyway, and you check your team fearing the worst from the auto-draft...and it drafts a team possibly better then I could have myself.

I didn't forget but had to work and I agree..... Palmer, Moss, Burress, Winslow, San Diego D, Chad Johnson ....iffy... Gostkowski.... Forte as an RB maybe a sleeper.

Pretty decent team, I am disappointed in my RB but, have a feeling Forte won't do too badly and I'll find someone....

Hopefully Johnson's injury isn't too bad, with TJ hurting, Chad stands to pick up some really good pass yardage.

Mister Coaster 09-04-2008 11:52 AM

Here we go, good luck to all!

Mister Coaster 09-08-2008 07:00 AM

Well, so much for my #1 pick of Tom Brady. Out for the season. I knew I should have picked Peterson. It's gonna be a tough road to the playoffs this year for Mile High.

thespian86 09-08-2008 07:33 AM

Brady number one? Really?

Mister Coaster 09-08-2008 11:23 AM

Well, I'll admit that I didn't really do any homework for the draft, but his numbers were so far and away better than ANY running back, that it seemed to make sense, especially since L.T. went as the #1 pick. I realize that a point per completion was part of the mix last year for QB, and not this year, but still. He tended to have 4 TD passes almost every game. The Pats retained all of their offensive players & Pro-Bowl offensive line, so why wouldn't he continue where he left off?

Now with the injury... meh...

OHHH you mean a "first round pick". Yeah, no, that is solid. I thought you meant first overall.

And, hey, I would never take peterson; he's injury prone and not a very solid back. He hits home runs a lot, but in between it isn't as glamourous.

Mister Coaster 09-15-2008 09:03 AM

It looks like I got my "bounce back" week, but unfortunately, Montana didn't have a "drop off" week. I ran into the buzzsaws of Jay Cutler and whoever that other C. Johnson on Detroit is. Detroit??? Blah...

MontanaXVI 09-15-2008 01:56 PM

BEAST picks.

:)

Now watch me fizzle out and lose 6 of the next 7 or something :(

grumpyolddude 09-20-2008 06:42 AM

You can start with this week, Montana!

We're having some fun, now, eh? Wish the message board were a little more active, though... and the smack talk.

We should encourage more voting for matchup winners. That's always fun as well.

MontanaXVI 09-22-2008 01:33 AM

I lost it this week, let the string of L's begin :P

I honestly, could not find the "Vote for winner" in week 1, but it has been there since so who knows.

I know if you go to the top tab where it says managers, and you see someone who hasn't been on in a while shoot them an e-mail asking them to check in on their team or just talk a little smack.

crewsor 12-23-2008 05:55 PM

Just bumping this this up to boast about my first TFP championship. It was a very enjoyable season. No one ran away with it and no one dropped out early unlike previous years.

I barely eked out a win over Donuts to keep him from sweeping the 2008 baseball and football leagues.

Thanks to Grumpy for providing great weekly reports which put the Mon. morning QB stories to shame. There were truly some entertaining reports each week.

I'm looking forward to the 09 baseball league. C ya.

grumpyolddude 12-23-2008 08:44 PM

Congratulations, Crewsor! How do you have the guts to play Thigpen in the championship? You've got big ones, pal!

Thanks for the setup, Montana! I had a lot of fun... until playoff time! Looking forward to next year!

btw, for what it's worth, I posted a wrap-up of sorts.

MontanaXVI 12-25-2008 06:17 PM

Glad everyone had a good time.

Congrats on the Championship.

I guess I lost the bet with Donuts then since he finished higher than me. Who knows what this holds for next season.

MontanaXVI 12-27-2008 11:16 PM

Turns out after a little investigation that bet I lost, turned out to be nothing more than bragging rights.

Again, congrats on a fine season.
