Senior year volleyball game my senior night.

We were winning the game so it was just the 3 seniors getting all the sets. I pulled line to avoid the block and drilled the player defending line right in the face on an attack. All my friends in the stands went nuts.

Second best was my sophomore year. IN the winter basketball tournaments hosted by another high school. My team had suffered a few injuries and i was in at the power forward position when i rolled my ankle earlier in the game. I'm 6 feet tall tops on a good day. So to play the 4 spot is kind of a stretch even on JV. Anyways i'm hobbling up the floor coach can't take me out no ones really healthy enough to play other than me. The other teams 3 guard blows by his defender goes baseline to try and get a lay up. I jump of one foot block his shot and cradle it in one arm. Best defensive play in a game for me ever.

I was in 6th grade and one of my older brothers friends played on a competitive travel basketball team. Due to a school trip they were down to 4 players and needed a 5th to play the game (though they ended up forfetiting after the game since technically I wasn't supposed to play) so his friend invited me to come play. I was only 12 and the kids were all like 15-16 and at least several inches taller then me, but I absolutely took them to school. Every single shot I took dropped in the basket, turn around fadeaways, hook shots, and free throws. I think I ended up with over 30 points and hurt the other teams feelings bad, since they complained after the game I wasnt signed up for the league so the game didn't count :(

I have a tie for my greatest, short lived glory. I played in an exhibition game against Sergei Samsonov when he was about 15 and on a good will tour playing local teams in north america. I caught him coming across the middle with his head down and popped him good, he was a bit pissed but i was more upset by his 7 goals he poured in during the first 2 periods. He was head and shoulders better than anyone on the ice....even though it was an exhibition it was very heated. I don't think he played the rest of the 3rd period.

Second time was the one i am most proud of, I was playing in a local baseball league (senior a ball) no where near major league or minor league ball. One of the local teams picked up a former MLB pitcher who was coming down to coach/play for a team as he transitioned into retirement and managing full time. I got into a game when he was pitching and took a 2-0 fastball out of the park. I was not a HR hitter but wow that felt great to take a former MLB player deep!

Well, I wasn't personally out there playing or anything, but this right here was by far my most memorable sports moment ever.

I'm not sure how I can top that, but I will keep trying.

'glory' is far too strong a word, but my fondest sports memories are from playing basketball in high school. We had a record 14-2 playing in the league one year and the opposite when they moved us up the next year. Back when my knees actually worked for me, I had quite a vertical for being average sized.
