Kobe Bryant to go to new expansion team?
he will be a free agent next year i believe so its not out the question
It's not, but staying in LA is a very strong possiblity. He doesn't have to get away from Shaq to prove he can carry a team, he already proved that in February when he had like 8 games in a row where he scored 40+ with Shaq out.
There's also the possiblity of the Grizzlies (because of his past relationship with Jerry West) and any other team that has alot of cap room (like the Spurs if they don't sign a major name this offseason such as Jermaine O'Neal or Jason Kidd). |
Kobe would never sign with anyone that wasn't a contender, plain and simple. Since he already has a good situation in LA I don't see him going anywhere else.
Well the thing is, any team with Kobe pretty much IS a contender. I mean, the Wizards with only a 40 year old MJ were challenging for a playoff spot. Kobe could probably drag almost any team into the playoffs kicking and screaming if he had to (Obvious teams like the Nuggets and Clippers excluded.)
Kobe loves the Lakers.. he's been a Laker fan since he was a kid. The Lakers will be HIS team once Shaq retires, so he knows where home is.
Kobe isn't going anywhere.

Agreed...Kobe will be staying in LA for years to come.
if he leaves, lakers are goin to be worse than the clippers
I can't see Kobe leaving. He likes it in LA and he knows he can get what he wants in LA.
Well there's a lot that the Lakers have done that could cause him to leave (such as pushing West out) but Phil will probably be leaving the Lakers soon, as will Shaq, so he would be the only person truely left from the Laker dynasty.
Kobe just signed a 7 year deal for 72 million like 2 years ago. He's not a free agent, and he woulden't leave anyway.
Kobe Bryant will be a restricted free agent after next season, as will Kevin Garnett.
Kobe is a free agent after the 2004-2005 season. You can probably find it on the web somewhere.
He's got 2 seasons left, I'm almost positve. |
