Vancouver vs StLouis; Game 7
The Vancouver Canucks just managed to pull a sloppy win tonight by the skin of their teeth to tie up the series 3-3. Any thoughts on who is going to win this series come Tuesday?
To recap, St.Louis is missing a few of their key players, most notably Al McInnis. He might reappear from the injury list, but so far it looks doubtful. Plus they're still battling the flu that seems to be draining all their strength. They might get a chance to recover by Tuesday, but only time will tell. Vancouver, on the other hand, is still having problems with their first line. They're producing, but not at the level they are capable of. Shut them down, and it's up to the rest of the team to come to the rescue. The Canucks also have this persistent problem of shutting down in the third period after gaining the lead. They might finally get bitten in the ass, and the Blues could capitalize on this. So, with that said, make your predictions here, and see if you were right come Tuesday night. Will it be a close game? Will one team dominate over the other? This one looks like it's going neck and neck. ====================== Edit: Final Score: 4-1 for Vancouver Holy shit! What a game!!! I think the Canucks must have missed the first bus, because they didn't show up until after the first minute of gameplay. St.Louis seized the opportunity, and scored a quick goal. After that, though, it was all Vancouver. Key notes in the game; - MacInnis was playing. I know he's a proud warrior, but he shouldn't have been out there tonight. It was too soon. It felt as though he hindered the Blues more than he helped them, and him coughing up a goal didn't help matters either. - The Vancouver first line came alive, in an explosion of action. Naslund, and Morrison both scored goals, and there was a missed breakaway attempt by Bertuzzi near the end of the third period - The Canucks, lead by Bertuzzi, were body checking like there was no tomorrow. That seriously hindered the Blues chances at setting anything up. - Both goaltenders played in fine fashion, but give it up for Cloutier who made some fine saves, and shut his critics down - Most notably, the Canucks didn't stop playing in the third period. Instead of playing the trap, they forechecked, and it made all the difference in the game. So, the Canucks start at home against the Minnesota Wild (Sat possibly?), and the Blues spend time licking their wounds on the golf course. BTW, I suppose I should have pointed out that I was rooting for the Canucks. So, if my comments seem a little biased towards one team...they are.

Just cuz im canadian i'll root for the Canucks, but im also a sucker for the underdog, so a part of me also wants the blues to win. If they can get over the flu, and Osgood gets back to 100% health they have a good shot, especially with guys like cory stillman, keith tkachuk, etc.,

Well, here's another Blues fan. They have to win because I bet my boss luch that they'd go farther than his team.
Oh, BTW, his teams is the Detroit Red Wings. (HA-Ha!) I love seeing them get hammered almost as much as I'll enjoy seeing the Blues win! |

Blues should have crushed the Canucks by now. They just haven't had their shit together the past two games(and they were still close games). I expect the Blue Notes to be firing on all cylinders for Game 7.
On a related note, I got to ice skate at the Savvis Center last week. That was awsome. |

Go Canucks. Ottawa beat the Islanders and the Maple Leafs will come back and beat the Flyers.

Haha I think the Canucks are gonna make the Blues pay for not finishing them off while they had the chance...I mean we were down 3-1! But now the momentum has certainly changed.
And the big line is finally living up to its expectations and Ohlund is back in the game. If the Canucks are playing their A game St Louis has no chance.

I'd definitely have to go with the Canucks. They have been picking up their play and getting better as the playoffs progress. Too bad they didn't figure out how to do it to start the playoffs.
Just some trivia, if the Canucks win tonight, Tkachuk will have twice been beaten by the Canucks after his team was up 3-1. Go Canucks!!! |

The Canucks top scorers have finally scored, but it hasn't been when they were a line together. Crawford moved them around and it seemed to work.
Would be nice to see them cause some havoc tonight as a line, but if it wasn't working at the beginning of the series... -Tamerlain
