Help me pick a topic for Sexuality Project
 

Im in a human sexuality class and I have to pick a topic for a project. Its a group project so (as usual) that means im going to be dragging everyone elses asses through through the mud or else fail myself. Ok it sucks, but I'm over it.

Anyway, we really have NO restrictions. From what I hear, people have come in and just played flat out porno for 15 minutes while discussing it. I suppose it needs to be something I can research or survey.

Im kinda excited though and heres why. I'm not exactly 100% confident walking up to random girls starting conversations. No matter what I survey, this will be a great practice for me, walking up and surveying. Especially considering its an excuse to make myself comfortable asking very personal questions (hopefully getting into some innocently 'official' dirty talk :D )

Any thoughts on what data I should collect?
Some of my ideas are: First sexual experiences, different on dating game strategies, menstral cycles (after reading this thread )

.... maybe I could do something clever like see what it takes to get people to blush :lol:

but seriously, any other clever ideas, feedback?
How would you make your project stand out?

1. What makes a person "ready" for sex?
2. Sexual attraction vs Relationship attraction? Bascially what's the difference between a person you want to bring to your bedroom and do the nasty and someone who you can still do the nasty with but bring home to meet your parents.

Favourite positions? Best lubes? Best techniques? Open relationships?

I dunno...

What about something along the lines of how much do looks matter?
For each gender, come up with 6 pictures, ranging from drop dead gorgeous to well - appearance challenged... then come up with 6 different biographies -- from the greatest person in the world - to a closet serial killer... apply the bio to different images and see how the person's opinion of that person changes.

(I did something like this for a psych class when I was in school, and it was really fascinating results)

Anal Sex. And why 75% straight men are obsessed with stickin' it in a girls ass but would never let them stick anything in their ass becuase that would be "gay."

Actually you could take that whole topic and run with it - why watching two girls is hot... and why two men are just gay... Why, when commenting on the physique of another male, men will often preface it with "I'm not gay..."

I like that--what makes certain situations gay?

I took a class on Women and Sexuality last term and I did my final paper on female friendship.

There are many aspects to sexuality. One topic I thought about doing for another class was sexuality between male athletes and homosexuality in professional sports.

I've taken so many classes on sexuality I practically have a minor in it, so if you'd like someone to brainstorm with drop me a PM.

I was going to suggest the same subjects... anal sex and the staight man... seen from all angles...

This stuff is golden guys, keep it comin if theres any left!

Poll women about unusual or surprising situations/events/occurances that made them horny. If you got enough respondants you might see some kind of pattern emerge.

I bet it would be interesting to look at sexual experience of individuals immediately following a fork in the road of society, like activities after graduation. Take the 2005 graduating class as an example:

Poll guys and girls on sexual experience that are:

-in Grade 12 currently
-graduated in 2004 and a) do not work and b) do not go to school
-graduated in 2004 and a) do not work and b) go to school
-graduated in 2004 and a) work and b) don't go to school
-graduated in 2004 and a) work and b) go to school

There would probably be some interesting patterns. You could expand and include those who graduated in 2003, or be more specific with designations between full time or part time etc.

You could present something like that sex chain theory article that was posted here not too long ago. It was actually pretty eye opening how many people you could indirectly have sex with :eek:

If the purpose of this is to survey people on it, and you're at college, I HIGHLY doubt you're going to get a lot of interesting responses asking guys about this. While some may speculate on what may be the interesting psychology behind this, I would imagine that almost all guys are going to tell you something to the effect of "guys give it, women take it, and that's just how it is" or perhaps a similar, less chauvinistic answer if you're campus contains less stereotypical college males.

Actually, this would be interesting coming from the point of view of women... Maybe it's just me and who I know, but I find that most women would also rather watch two women go at it than 2 guys. (I have a theory on this about how men are just natually less physically appealing than women, but that's getting off topic).

You could do a case study, without telling the subjects you're doing a case study. Excuse me, would you like to have sex with me? *slap* I'll mark you down as a no. Excuse me...

Survey about people's inabitions, what they would love to do but just can't. Say something like bondage but are to embarrassed to tell their boyfriend or even a porno. I would list topics that are off the wall to see what is more likely to be true in the study. Hey, now you just have to find people willing to answer your questions. Good luck with that one!

What position is the favourite.
Alcohol and it's effects on sexplay.
Kinks, fetishes.
What women think about all the various seduction manuals that exist on the net.

I think you could do all of those, but if it's a project for a class, it would be a lot more interesting to do something more serious and worthy of your teacher's genuine interest in why you chose that particular subject.

I suggest a survey on what people think about Safe Sex. How safe is safe sex...easy to do, very interesting to see the responses after a few years of society being bombarded with this and other notions in sex education.

I know it sounds boring, but I'm too academic to know better! :p

Why is it guys don't want anal when it involves their own butt?

1. Because having something inserted up your asshole is not necessarily a comfortable feeling for a lot of men.

2. Because many men feel that it is one step closer to homosexuality. Gay men fuck each other in the ass, right?

3. Men are takers, not givers. Men prefer to be overpowering, not overpowered. There is a sense of frailty and submissiveness to anal sex at times. Some like it, some don't.

I don't subscribe to these notions, but I believe they go a long way to explain why many men aren't gung ho about having themselves fucked up the ass.
