Anyone kiss with your eyes open?
 

Ok, this girl that I have been 'dating' noticed the other night that whenever we are making out or kissing in any way I always keep my eyes open. She said that it was the first time that she had experienced anything like that saying that it was a very unemotional thing to do. I was wondering if anyone here does that or has experienced it with anyone.

It depends on the mood of the kiss. I like to kiss both ways...my new man has such gorgeous hazel eyes and lovely long eyelashes I just gotta look at them sometimes! I don't think it's unemotional at all. It's when you're kissing and looking elsewhere rather than at the person you're kissing...that shit is just not on.

I'm with ella on this one.. it depends on the mood/type of kiss that it is. Sometimes it's hot to see a person's eyes as you kiss other times it's good to close your eyes. An open eyed kiss can be more emotional than a closed eye kiss.

Also, depends on what's being kissed. ;)

Suppose if my eyes aren't closed they're keeping track of something close at hand. No looking around the room or whatever. That would seem odd or detached.

aHH!! that's so funny. I noticed about 2 weeks ago that my boyfriend kisses with his eyes open probably about 95 percent of the time.

I on the other hand rarely, if never, kiss with my eyes open.
it doesn't bother me that he does kiss me with his eyes open, but some moments i wish he'd close 'em and just focus on the feeling, not what he's seeing.

maybe that's how she's feeling? i don't know, i can't speak for everyone out there...

I think it's kind of cute that he does it. Sometimes though, I'd rather have him not looking at me but that's because i'm sometimes insecure at what he might be starring at...
I don't think of it as unemotional though, maybe I'll ask him why he does do it? ;)

I never paid attention. I would guess closed, but I am not certain.

Again, I guess it would depend on who was kissing what. There are just certain places on my body that I enjoy watching her kiss too much to look away.

I always kiss with my eyes closed, because I feel that it enhances the experience. However, I have opened my eyes a couple of times to check out my partner. I used to think that having your eyes open during kissing, or making out, was wrong. But I don't think that anymore. People are different, and do different things.

Kind of to add on to this discussion, if I may, how does this apply to sex? I really hope that somebody reads this post and talks about this. Because for me, seeing the point of penetration, like vaginal, or oral, is a MAJOR turn on. But yet I feel kind of wierd for looking at the penetration instead of my partner. What are other peoples thoughts on this?

I always kiss with my eyes close, except when we're having sex. Then my eyes are open for the majority of the time. I love watching him, so my eyes stay open mainly.

Always have mine shut unless I am peeking to see if his are open.

it depends on the situation and whats around. And the type of kiss, for a good passionate kiss sometimes i keep my eyes open to make sure she is enjoying it as much as i am

My wife usually closes her eyes, but I usually kiss with my eyes open (I think). :)

For the most part I keep my eyes closed. Occasionally I will open my eyes and find that my boyfriend has his eyes open too. I kind of like it because you can gaze into each others eyes and feel so connected.

My first couple of kisses were with my eyes open. My girlfriend at the time was much more expeirienced then me and wanted me to close them, so i did. Now I enjoy kissing with my eyes closed, it seems to add more passion and intamicy for me.

I almost always kiss with my eyes open.

It's kind of a hang over effect from being a teenager and being on the outlook to see if some one was coming or something. Paranoia's a hard habit to kick sometimes.

Either, actually. It's not really a conscious process, either. Sometimes I close my eyes, sometiems I keep them open.

Sometimes I keep my eyes opened and sometimes I close them. I don't think it's weird to have them opened or anything, and I defenitly keep my eyes open during actual sex.

i mix it up but thinking about it, i prefer them open just because its a pain to concentrate on haivng to keep my eyes shut when they can be open for the exact same experience

a little of both....eye contact while kissing, and watching their reactions is equal to teh sexay. closing the eyes and just reveling in the feeling of the kiss is also equal to teh sexay.

if it wierds her out...you might want to try it the other way. also...maybe have her try it yours. there isn't going to be any harm in practicing this. :)

I tend to close my eyes if the kiss is good. That way I seem to "feel" it more. However, if the guy (or girl depending my company/intoxication level) sucks I will open them more just to see what the hell they are doing wrong!

When my fiance and I were first dating, I could not keep my eyes closed. I don't know if I was just nervous,, or if it took awhile t oget used to his face, but after a few months, I relaxed and now (several years later) open eyed kisses are rare and intentional.

For me, if I am passionately kissing someone I love...I close my eyes. If I am passionately kissing someone who I think is not the one...I open my eyes. But that's just me.

I kinda feel bad too, because I never told her that she needed to improve, we just broke things off. Sucks because I feel that people should learn from all of their relationships but one cannot learn much if there is no communication on that level. Perhaps I should call her...

I'd say 50-50 on the open/closed during kissing question. When I'm having sex, eyes are always open. I think for us guys, sex is heavily visual, and with girls it's far more emotional. That's what my wife & I have decided, anyway. I'm totally turned on by seeing what's going on, my wife could probably close her eyes the moment we hit the sheets & not open them up again until we wake up the next morning.

I now have my shields up, prepare to fire away.

When we are mid "make out session" we keep our eyes closed but we usually end with little baby kisses and we have our eyes open for that. It's weird keeping my eyes open, but if it works for you then go for it.

I was an open eyed kisser, but when I recently broke an ex girlfriend's heart she said one of the things that had made it so emotional was the open eyed kisses. Now I try and keep them closed more.

well, usually when I open my eyes, I do it for less that 3 seconds, then I close them. I use to have a gf that kept them open all the time, which kind of freaked me out, because what would she watch? Its personal preference, whatever feels comfortable with you and whats comfortable with her.

Closed. It strains my eyes to focus on something that close to my face.

When my eyes are open, they aren't really focusing. They sorta tune out because I'm too caught up in the moment. But they are deffinately open.

I will every once in awhile. It's kind of fun.

i like taking peeks during a kiss

I usually take a few peeks. The girl I'm seeing right now just has a beuatiful face, and I just gotta look. She seems to peek every once in a while too... Kind of freaks us both out if we peek at the same time. Sometimes if I'm just being a dork, I'll do a wide open unblinking stare.

I use to back in high school. Them my gf made fun of me. "Only fish kiss with their eyes open". So, I stopped.
