Glass sex toys?
Has anyone had any experience with glass sex toys that can vouch for them? or are they just overpriced and not really that good?
trying to decide whether or not to buy one? |
My lady and I have never used them, but I've heard one of things that makes them interesting an unique is that they retain heat and cold well, so you can microwave them or freeze them to add a new dimension to your play time.
|
They clean very well too. The downside to glass is that since they retain temperature well, you have to make sure to warm them prior to play.... unless she's into having cold toys being used on her... diffrn't strokes and all.

Isn't glass ummm breakable?
 |

The toys are not actually made out of the same type of glass that you are probably thinking of. It's a boro-silicate glass, that is usually annealed or tempered. It is very strong, and I doubt you would ever have a problem with one breaking - even from a fall on a hard surface (within reason).
These toys, are safe and very hygenic (very easy to sterilize!). Plus, they look cool, and as a guy, I find that the clarity of the glass is a huge turn-on when a girl is using one. |
I know, I know... I'm just being silly.

wife loves em.... breakable? yeah, I try not to use the freakin sledgehammer to insert it more often than necessary. LMAO

glass toys look alot better, i never thought about the temperature thing... if i were to pick between glass and plastic of the same thing , i would pick glass
|
Just don't microwave them to long.
|
Microwaves excite water molecules. Microwaving glass will do nothing other than enlarge cracks. You want to run it under warm then hot water

lurkette has (and loves) one of these:

they're fun because of the temp thing. and the texture and weight make it fun for teasing with. but i'm not a huge fan of them as a dildo. i don't care for metal ones either (or hard plastics). i just prefer my (penetration) toys on the softer side.
all in all though, i'd say it is worth it to try if you are interested. even if you decide you don't like playing with it, they're pretty enough you could set it out as a decoration! |
I love mine... :)
|
I never thought of heating one up. I think the wifey would like that. I agree with ambient about the translucency being arousing. Sounds like a winner to me.

We have a pyrex dildo, its really durable, and it has all of these cool swirls and designs in it. Pop in in the microwave for a few seconds, or in the fridge for a few minutes. Whatever floats your boat. The pyrex dildos can be a little pricey.
