Viagra - Have u tried it yet?
 

I got given two, blue, diamond shaped pills a little while ago by a friend who just happened to have some spare. I'm in my mid-twenties and so is my SO and at first I was pretty reluctant to try them out just in case I then developed a need for them to help me perform in the bedroom...

But one dull night in and a bottle of wine later, we both decided 'why the f*ck not!' We'd already had sex a few hours earlier but thought that if these pills were going to spark us onwards and upwards (excuse the pun :D ) then so be it!

So we eagerly waited... and waited... and the rest of the evening pretty much came and went without feeling horny, or getting a spontaneous boner or anything really...

In the end my SO (who'd had one pill) decided that because we'd spent so long talking about huge erections, she'd damn well like to see one in action. So we had sex, which was great but I can't really say the pill helped me to last any longer or in fact stay hard after cumming...

So what I want to know is: Did we get some dud pills? Or is Viagra just a placebo for older guys, who just need a bit of mental preparation?
Have any guys/girls out there ever tried the stuff or get better results than us?

There have been several threads about the little blue pills so for further info you might want to do a search. Viagra doesn't make you horny, give you a spontaneous erection or seem to have much of an effect on women. Basically it makes it easier for blood to go to your penis making it hard and enabling it to stay hard longer. If you take one and have no stimulation nothing will happen. Alcohol can lessen the effects of Viagra as well as having a fatty meal before taking one. It definitely works but one still needs to be in the mood and be stimulated sexually for anthing to happen.

I tried it once because my (then) girlfriend's parents decided to give us one. I took it without telling her about it - just thinking I would have a super erection that she wouldn't help but notice. It didn't happen (come to find out it doesn't work that way) so we just went to sleep.

As my arteries have grown old and narrow, I have found the need to check out the various products mentioned here. My experiences:
Viagra - Yes to the bluish tint in one's vision, and look forward to a major headache afterward. The relative short-term effects can also put the pressure on to perform.
Cialis - If taken at full-strength (20mg) can also cause headaches. I also had digestive issues after trying this. It does give you the whole weekend to get your freak on, however. I cut the pill in half and get almost full benefit without most of the side-effects. The positive effects of Cialis are: (1) I last longer, (2) I sometimes have multiple orgasms (2 major o's about 10 seconds apart), (3) the unmeasureable positive self-image generated by being able to do (1) and (2). So much for THAT secret...

Being a little older than most the readers here, I started the occasional use of the little blue pill. I found that the 100mg pill was giving me way too many side effects (cited above), so I started quartering them, and it works perfectly...takes about 45 min to work, and get no side effects. I don't use them all the time, only when I want to make sure all the plumbing is going to work. I also ensure my wife is good with the game plan. Maybe it was just the placebo effect. But the second time it did seem a little harder, and I definately lasted longer. Actually too long.

I think a lot of it was mental. I was really relaxed the second time. (No alcohol) Controlled my breathing better. Maybe it was just a confidence boost?

The poster boy for a Viagra/Cialis user would be late 40s, maybe a little depressed, maybe overweight. I fit 2 of the 3 (not overweight). I have a doctor's recommendation to use it. I have described the great success I have had with Cialis, but please don't think that it is providing me with something I have never had. It basically makes me feel 20 years younger in the bedroom. If I WAS 20 years younger, I wouldn't go near the stuff. I'm not sure what the effect would be on someone who already has a steel I-beam between their legs. I recently read "The Viagra Myth" by Abraham Morgentaler. It gives accounts of successes and failures with the drug. Many of the failures seem to be young folks who use it needlessly. Apparently it is easy to become emotionally dependent on it.
