best way to be there for someone after a breakup?
i have a friend whos boyfriend just broke up with her. what would the best way to "comfort" her without coming on too strong.

If you are a girl I'd say have a girls night out. Invite some other female friends to go out with you two. Don't invite any guys along or plan on meeting up with any.
If you are a guy, all you can really do is be there for her if she wants to talk or hang out with her.

/kidding There isn't much I can really add that the other comments haven't already provided. Just try to be a friend, listen and be a friend. I would recommend getting them to watch a movie where a break-up was for the best, where everything ended all hunky dorey. This way they have something relate to, or you could tell them a story from your own experience (if you have any). |
