I assume you are referring to 'pubic' hair, not 'public' hair... lol...
1.Keep shaving - the ingrowns get less. 2.Use a good quality electric razor every day - the don't cut quite as close and result in less ingrowns. 3.Use an exfoliant face scrub (gently) in the shower. 4.Moisturise after shaving. Don't know if your are M or F, but I am a bloke and those things work for me and my girl, no reason why they won't work for you. Bald is Beautiful...

Really?! I wondered about this. I don't understand why, though. If ingrown hairs are from folicles that miss the pore or the pore is closed up, then how would waxing solve those issues? I am a shaver and I get ingrown hairs all the time! I would love to get rid of them. |

But yeah, to prevent ingrown hairs you have to exfoliate the area. If you happen to get one you just sort of need to umm... dig it out..

An ingrown hair is caused when the tip of a hair is made sharp by cutting it. Then if the sharp end gets below the skin and it doesn't grow straight back out the sharp end can push its way in to and under the skin causing iritation. Plucking (Ouch) and waxing (double Ouch) pull the hair out and don't cut it, since there is no sharp end the har is forced to grow out the path of least resistance.
As Averett said if you get one you just have to "dig it out", then if you pluck it, it should grow back normal. |
