My wife would rather just swallow... she says she's already tasting it anyway, so why spit it out? And it's less clean up.

Swallow. I don't get spitting either. The penis is already in the back of one's throat (at least usually, at that point) and when the man cums, it seems easier to just take a gulp and be finished. Sorry if that sounds kinda cold and clinical, but that pretty much sums it up.
