Nervous, and need to vent...

Notice: A true story about my sex life, followed by a question that I probably know the answer to and just need reassurance. There are details, so if you're not into that, don't read anymore of this~

Okay, I'll get straight to the point. About three weeks ago, my girlfriend and I were laying in my bed doing normal boyfriend/girlfriend things. When it's "that time of the month" we don't have sex, there's usually just a lot of head involved because she's cool like that. Well, on the birth control she takes, she is off of it for 1 day after her period ends, then goes back on it for 3 weeks, etc. The day after her period ended, we were in the bedroom and she was going down on me, when all of the sudden she just jumps up and onto -it-. At that point, my first thought was "hell yeah, getting laid" then I came to my senses and realized "wait, she's off of BC and I don't have the latex helmet on." So, I told her no in a nice way, and she smiled. Then, I told her (in a not-so-polite way) to get off of it, and she did.

My question: since she had been giving me head, and the little friend is quite the basketball player (dribble before the shoot yadda yadda), could there be any way possible that in the brief 5 seconds it was in, she could have gotten pregnant? I tell myself that there is no way in hell, but then I get to thinking about it and it really messes with my head. I'm sure that I'm just blowing it out of proportion and that she is not, but there's still the possibility, and that's what is fuckin' with me.

I've talked to her about it, and she's not too worried... guess I'm just overly paranoid for some strange reason. We've had scares before, but this one is really getting me, mainly posting here because most of the posters are pretty knowledgeable about things like this, and I guess I just need reassured about this from someone other than my dumbass friends that ask "Oh, so what are you going to name it?"

I'll know for sure in 7 days when/if the visitor makes his monthly route, and I pray to God that he does arrive and that he's on time... at this point in the relationship anyhow ;)

Yes, sadly it is possible. Precum does contain sperm.

Time shall tell my friend.

There have been a few posts like this, and the re-occuring advice is that for the time being, there is absolutely nothing you can do but wait. Buy a pregnancy test if she doesn't get her period, or go to a doctor. I know it's so much easier said than done (to not worry), but you've just got to wait it out.

If I was in your position I'd actually be more concerned about her jumping on me like that without protection. Hopefully it was just a little miscommunication (she thought you were joking) but I would be very upset if she jumped on me, as she would be if you just entered her by surprise without a condom.

Anything's possible, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you're safe, just based on basic physiology.

It's pretty unlikely that she'd get pregnant if it was the day after her period and she started taking her bc pills on schedule. Most pills work by preventing ovulation, which normally occurs about 2 weeks before a woman's period. It's really, really (I mean REALLY) unlikely that she would have ovulated that soon after her period, and as long as she's taking the pills, it's unlikely that she'd ovulate soon enough for pregnancy to be a possibility (sperm can hang out for like 3-5 days, so if she ovulated within that time, there might be a risk). But like I said, as long as she started her pills on time, it doesn't matter that you had sex with her on the one day that she was still taking placebo pills but not actually bleeding. Just because she wasn't taking active dose pills doesn't mean she was "off" the pill - it doesn't work like that.

Like I said, anything's possible, so be careful in the future, but I wouldn't lose sleep over this, and I'm a notorious worrywart.

Could happen, but chances are slim.

Just be nice to her for a while after the "not so nice" way of asking her to get off, or you might only be getting nothing for a while!

Just take a pregnancy test to put your mind at ease....(her, not you)

If she's taking the pills as intended, then she has a week off for her period. Actually, she could continue to take the week's worth of placebo pills, but I've never known anyone who actually DOES that.

That doesn't mean she's "off birth control" for that week. It's a cyclical thing. As long as she starts on time at the end of the week, then the pills will work as designed--they'll prevent her next ovulation in a couple weeks and you'll be fine.

I like your caution, though. It's true that pre-cum can cause pregnancy in the event of a birth-control breakdown.

Thanks guys for the posts. Hearing that from someone other than my friends definitely makes me a little less uneasy about the situation. And as far as her taking the placebo pills during her period.. yeah she does. She has her BC down to a direct science and even the placebo pills have to be taken at the same time every day like clockwork, just to keep her on schedule of taking a pill everyday. Anyhow, thanks for the posts - nice to know there are people out there that can actually discuss these things, instead of just make jokes about it. :)

And on the subject of her jumping on me like that - we've talked about that a lot. I've known this girl my entire life, and dated her off and on for like 3 years, and this is the first time we've ever actually had a conflict of interests... so that was kind of an odd situation. Hopefully she understands now... she couldn't really understand the fact that I needed to have an argument type conversation with her until we had it - known her 16 years total, and never once had a cross word with her.

you're fine dude. Chicks have like a 2 week period where they are fertile.....look at people trying to get pregnant.....they bang like mad for 7 days or so...during ovualtion......so I'd bet lots o dough that you are safe......

Precum actually contains a higher concentration of sperm than actual semen. That's something to chew on.

You're fine dude. If your gf is taking her pills according to the prescription, there is no time during the month that you could get her pregnant. See this page http://www.plannedparenthood.org/bc/bcfacts11.html#PILL. They don't explicitly say it here, but I've read it on other websites too. Even during her "stop week" when she's having her period and not taking the pill (or taking the placebo), there is no risk of pregnancy even if you were to have sex.

I can personally attest to this as well. Only if she were to forget a whole day, should you use a condom for a week to be on the safe side.

So, absolutely no need to worry.
