High class vs. Low class body types
 

I recently read an article which claimed that the perfect female form was depedent on the viewers' social status.

"Upper class" men thought thin, small breasted women were ideal.

"Lower class" or "Working class" men thought that full breasted and hipped women were ideal.

On the surface this seems to be kind of valid. Compare the body of a typical run way or fashion model ("High society") to a typical stripper or porn star ("Low / working class").

Yet I still wonder if this simple generalization is appropriate. Any thoughts?

So....what if I am middle class?

For me, I am a "middle-class" guy that likes the description for the "lower-class" men. Not too full-figured, but I want a real woman. One who doesn't look like a man when she turns sideways.

So, does that mean that I have "low-class" thoughts?

Very hard to really answer, I think it's more placed on a lifestyle I would think. Not so much a social status per say. I personaly prefer women that are not so full breasted again that really depends on your definition of FULL BREASTED. I personally like anything from a to a small c, anything more usually seems out of place. I'm no means Upperclass but I don't prefer bigger breasted women, because they often tend to seem somewhat trashy to me, this is not to say that all big breasted women are trash I however don't seem to like those that flaunt it as if it's the best thing in the world. On the women who are hipped.. that really depends, some men look for an ideal mate which is one that can procreate. So on that level if I'm really looking for the ideal woman that I will live my life with she will by no means be one of those sticks you see in society today, many of them do not have the size to become a mother.

I personally look for a woman that has nice size breasts ranging from A to C, that have some meat on them, I'm not a fan of the 90lbs women, or the smallest ones. So from this standpoint I would say the perfect woman for me (6'3" 200lbs) would be a woman above 5'8" with A to C breasts and some hips, Enough meat on her to look healthy, I don't want to see her ribs, or feel like I'm going to crush her.

So to totally answer your question I guess you could take either side to this arguement. I personally think people choose thier women by the way they wish to live, not so much by wealth ranking. I will always like the woman type that I have explained; however, I doubt I will ever be much above working class. And technically, if they're a porn STAR, they aren't making bad money, so they're working class with big bucks, atleast the good ones.

interesting article... there's definitely something about it. In the last century it was indeed a social status for a rich upper class man to have a beautiful woman with the perfect body. The working class couldn't afford to be picky and often ended up with larger women who could give birth to a lot of children. Society has changed since then of course but it's easy to see that the tendency is still the same though it may have changed a bit.

yes like I said the circumstances have changed a bit but when it comes to the upper class it's pretty much the same. I mean have you ever seen a rich/famous man with a big, ugly woman?

Current research (based on americas preference via Playmate of the Month) does indeed show certain economic trends: In a flourishing economy, men prefer thinner women.

When times are tough, fuller women are preffered.

This is clearly linked to our primal instincts and survival. When men are better able to provide for their families (when the economy is good, resources and work are plenty and a high level of security is felt) the physical health (or appearance thereof) of his mate is less of a factor in securing the best for their family.

When men are less able to provide for their family, it is obviously of prime importance for their mate to be at her best. A more voluptuous woman looks more healthy. In biological terms, more body mass = more survivability.

Given the fact that job security, income and safety is nowadays largely tied largely to the state of the economy, think of it like this: During America's last economic depression (early 90's), Anna Nicole Smith was the bastion of femininity.


You have to view this subject in the bigger picture, not from your horny college student perspective. Obviously, you could take this down to a classist theory, but then you have to ignore individual cases and look more at pure stats, since individual tastes vary.

Perhaps it could be the other way around. Fashion models generally cater to the upper class as the clothes that they model are too expensive for the lower class to wear. These clothes look best when worn by thin women with pretty faces and long legs, so these models are used to sell more clothes.

Since full, large breasted women do not make the best runway models, they tend to get into other forms of "modelling" and entertainment, like stripping and porn. Since this is a cheap form of entertainment, it attracts more lower class people.

Just a theory...

Fashion models are selling womens' clothing. They aren't intended to necessarily look good to men. Similarly, porn stars and strippers don't have to look good to women.

However my wife was short and thin, now average and thin. Three kids and 17 years have only brought her up to about 120 pounds!:icare:

I can't believe no-one has noted the racial factors in this.

Black people who make up a considerably large portion of our lower-class society typically like bigger women.

Marketing and media and simply social norms will demonstrate this. You will find more skinny white women in the upper class of America. You will find more larger-bodied women in the mid to lower classes. Attraction is typically based on the norms in your environment.

Bikers in general usually like skinny ,small breasted women , I dont think I have ever heard them referred to as " High Class".

I agree that race plays a role. A lot of the things that are attractive to certain people are influenced by culture. In the black and hispanic cultures, large breasts, big butts and generally more voluptuous women are considered the epitome of sexy. Coincedentally, a lot of hispanic and black women have larger butts or breasts than white or asian women.

Well I'm not exactly sure what we are considering to be "high class" here, but in America, some of the most successful (and richest) races are Caucasians and Asians. Asian women are generally known for petite bodies. A lot of asian women are slender and have small to moderate breasts and small butts. White women can vary a lot but they are generally flatter than black and hispanic women.

Keep in mind, of course, that these are all generalizations. There are exceptions in all cases. I myself am a Caucasian and Chinese and I have pretty wide hips and a 34C breast size. I am, however, very slender around the waist. If anything I'm saying offends you, I'm sorry. You can tell me and I'll remove it.

Anyway...that article sounds too generalized to really be truthful. What do they consider "high society"? People who make lots of money? People with certain jobs? People with old money? Socialites? And what is Lower class? People with certain jobs; with certain incomes...?
Then on top of that...at what point does the body stop being "slender" and start being "full"?

Usually a fuller body comes with fuller breasts. It's all proportional. If you wear a size 1 in pants but you have a 34C breast size, your breasts will appear a lot bigger than they would if you were a size 12 and had a D cup. So...are they saying that high class men like women with smaller breasts in terms of cups or smaller in terms of proportions?
